I can't think of anything else.
I thought that initially, then I think about what Chelsea spent this summer and none of it makes sense
I think is different, Chelsea did not buy anything for what? One year? They had a lot of income during that time from the players they keep on loaning + 80 mil from Hazard to Madrid.
I don't. I think it's a clear sign that someone else will be in charge next season and he will have big money to spend. We signed a young centre half that was needed for this season and someone who will be at the club long after Pep. They reckoned they could get away without signing a striker this year so a big marquee signing comes in next season. You know who.
Looking at the wage bill - out went Silva, Otters, Sane and Bravo (paid as high as most first-team keepers). That's a huge chunk of change kicking about.
This is also true, but I wonder if the board managed/wanted to extend Baldies contract, or Lyon was the last straw that broke the camels back for them.
I am thinking that we are still a bit afraid of FFT and even if we fucked UEFA, I think we are expecting they will come again after us, that is why we are not open that much to break the banks.
But if you think about it, we never did. We never payed more that 80 mil for anyone and still people say we ruined the marked.
We played 70 mil for Aguero and Silva ffs.
