Has anyone actually done a balance sheet and posted it on here as follows

who we have currently (our named 21 from this season just gone),

who is likely to go OR has gone this window

who is likely to arrive OR has arrived this window

I am intrigued to know where the scare mongering has come re "homegrown/English" Have they changed the rules this window & i've missed it?

Exactly how many homegrown/English players are we losing, how many do we need to bring in?

Are we really saying that beyond 3 marque signings (Pogba, De-Bruynne, Isco.... or whoever) we won't have enough homegrown/English to comply?

I am intrigued to know how close we really are sailing to the wind on this, or if the press has just panicked us, the fans in to believing it?

We are at 17 'foreign' players currently, which means that every 'foreign' addition would have to be balanced by an equivalent departure. Now, we can all speculate who might leave and who might come in, but the bottom line is, we need to have an eye on this thing.

We're not interested in Sterling because he's English. We're interested because he'd be an improvement to our team and he's available. Englishness is a bonus and drives the price, but if a non-English Sterling was available for 15m, I'm sure we'd go for him instead. Alas...

I think it's safe to say it's a bit of both. Age is of course also a factor as we wish to get younger. We're not being linked to Delph or even Song due to their quality meeting the teams' needs/standards, but we need home grown players.

I can't say I would be too sad to see him stay at Liverpool for another season without us funding their transfers for the summer. They're crazy if they have actually turned down 40m for him though.

Thanks for a succinct answer IJBM, kind of clears it up, just to clarify, that is 17 out 21 & based on where we were at the end of May, or does that factor in any we've since released/sold & is where we are as of at this very minute?

I appreciate he is an improvement and that alone should be enough of an answer, but i really don't want us to be held over a barrel purely because English.

Genuine question, can you see any other Prem team ""beat" the £40M we have offered? If not a Prem team any genuine contenders from Europe for him?

Parking the Italians to one side who don't have a collective pot to piss in.... The Germans don't splash the cash 40M EUROS is the leagues record, that leaves 3 Spanish & on French (unless you include Monacho) IMO, none of which i have seen any mention interest toward Sterling.

So the question begs, if they don't take our £40M (equiv to 55M EUROS), who will end up buying him?

As i've said, Brenda doesn't appear to have a war chest issued and needs the cash Sterling to buy up potential (Clyne) and non top 4 strikers (Ings).

Keeping an eye on the "balance" what is required to comply is one thing & one i suspect the club know all too well. But we should not let ourselves be fucked over by Brenda and Co, THEY are now in our shadow when comes to business all being well.

Perhaps another tac would be now for us to offer £20m Clyne on twice the wages, that'd soon shut the cunts up?

its simple we have 17 foreign spots all occupied.

We currently have two HG players Hart and Clichy. (im not counting wright)

imo we need a squad of 22,two for every position.

We have 19 players(17 foreign and 2 HG) , for me the other 3 spots are to be taken up by one HG top class purchase(sterling) and then two youngsters being promoted to first team squad(denayer and lopes)

Essentially, we only need one top class HG player and then any foreign player can be one out one in. If we sign two top class HG it gives us a bit of leeway but in reality prob means one of the youngsters isnt as close to first team squad as he should be.

Our squad(22 man) will then look like this:

Hart HG
Caballero Foreign

Zabaletta Foreign
Sagna Foreign
Kolorov Foreign
Clichy HG
Kompany Foreign
Demecihelis Foreign
Mangala Foreign
Denayer Youth

Toure Foreign
Fernando Foreign
Fernandinho Foreign
Silva Foreign
Nasri Foreign
Navas Foreign
Lopes Youth
Sterling?? HG

Aguero Foreign
Bony Foreign
Dzecko Foreign
Jovetic Foreign
Iheanacho Youth??
derby day the scores were level,
then the goat was fed by neville,
silly boy should know for sure,
feed the goat and he will score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

As mentioned above, Negredo and Zuculini are not included in the 17.

We must remember though, that these leaks might not be 100% trustworthy.

"City bid 25m", 20 minutes later "Liverpool reject the offer". Next day, "City bid 35m", 20 minutes later "Liverpool reject". Okay.

Why we would bid 40m, if no other club is willing to? Because Liverpool might not want to sell for less. Or want to drag it out for publicity reasons. Yeah, sure, Sterling might be available for free in 2 years, but if our people want him now, they will not fuck around. I couldn't care less whether we pay 30m or 40m, as long as it doesn't get in the way of our planning (i.e. other targets). Should he bomb, we're mugs anyway, 35m or 50m, what differences does it make to the media and the sheep. So a Liverpool supporter will take the piss out of my club for paying too much money for a player? Bothered! I'll be looking at our world-class players winning trophies in style, while he can hold up his hand, each finger worth 2 years that have past since their last cup win.

Jovetic is almost certainly going and Dzeko too. Nasri may go as well. The Chairman clearly
talked about outs as well as ins and I don't think he was talking about Lampard and Milner.
We can easily accommodate a couple of new top notch foreigners but the Club also wants to add to the English quotient. One ancho doesn't count towards the foreigner total because of his age. Denayer will replace Boyata and Lopes will likely come into the squad which 'replaces' Lampard( obviously not literally). I suspect the Club would like to get in two more; maybe Sterling and/or Delph. That replaces Milner with one to spare. Next season we may have three more of our own youngsters coming in so it should only be a short term problem.

If Nasri goes id love it if we got Draxler. Schalke are going through an almighty clear out with KPB, Max Meyler, Draxler, Howedes, and Sam tipped to possibly leave and Fuchs already signing for Leicester. Draxler was a hot commodity before he got injured last season.

doesn't bother me one bit. What bothered me at the time was him leaving for Juve and saying he was trying to get closer to home. He just needed a change. Mancini fucked him imho, plain and simple. Sadly. For all the good Roberto did it was his one act of hubris i felt. At the time i hated Tevez for the shit but history is proving to lead me to believe that Mancini used him as a scapegoat for his European failings. Totally fucking Machiavellian move on his part. And it sorta kinda worked, but only after he brought Tevez back in from the cold so we could win the title.

Strange times. Mancini courts dissent and passion as a leader and when it works it's awesome, when it doesn't....you, uh, look for something more....holistic.

cheers

Mancini is stubborn, almost to a fault, but we all have the benefit of hindsight and I'm hoping if he does too he knows he got it wrong that night.

If it hadn't been Mancini he'd have fallen out with whoever was in charge - he has a problem with authority.
