A good game overall spoilt by the officials.Never a pen and when Naeuer was 40 yardsout of his goal the ref gives them a free kick just so we could'nt take a pot shot at an empty goal sums up the bent referee.

I'm no fan of Dzeko, but the replay showed him get the nudge when he was going to hit the ball, as a result it was a few more steps and waiting for it to come down again. It wasn't a clean strike, but it was very good defending to deny him the first chance

Yap nevermind i m ok now but refs , wtf was that and Zabba was gone after 60 min . Why some players are not ready yet , Aguero is injured that i know , but u can see that Zabba is not on Richards level and far from last season level.

I'm pretty sure they didn't even show a replay of the "foul.

Did anyone notice that the commentator thought there was a distinction in the rules between "handball" and "deliberate handball" - Hargreaves just ignored him.

i thought today was fun...against the best team in the world. A nice workout on their home turf. Some positives, some negatives. Preseason buildup has been perfect to get my panties wet for the season to start. Really looking forward to it.

He was late joining us for preseason because he had an Argentina game. He will also be involved in the Argentina game in Italy before the season starts so will miss maybe a week or nearly a week more. He is basically where the rest of the team were after the first South Africa friendly and they didn't bring him off because he needs minutes on the pitch. I would prefer him being rusty in meaningless friendlies than once the season actually starts.

Zabba was given extended break, as he'd been playing with Argentina. He was one of the last ones back. He's got another two weeks to be fit, so I wouldn't worry yet

Agreed about gaz. I think a fit Micah offers more than a fit zabba. Title winning season is proof, we were more dangerous with him.

Good run out and fuck me what an awesome squad we have!

This cup's nothing than a final warmup before the actual season.. Glad to see the players and coaching staff relaxed about it and so too should the fans..

I don't think that's all down to the fullbacks though, in our title winning season Milner wasn't out wide as much as later which meant we relied on the fullbacks for width. When Milner started playing more games (with Zabba as fullback) he basically occupied the wide space and blunted the fullback's attacking role.
Pellegrini seems to have allowed for this by allowing the fullbacks to cut inside in support if the opportunity allows it - Micah did it against Milan and Zabba did it against Bayern so they should be able to still be involved even if Milner or Navas is playing.

Me to i love Zabba but we have still time to get him back on track and i miss Silva tonight.

I thought the commentary team were good, especially Owen Hargreaves who is actually intelligent. The three arseholes in the studio were appalling.

The ref was bent.

Have seen enough of us this pre-season to be thinking of sticking some dough on us to win the title. I think we'll also do well in the Champions League.
