Just watching daily briefing, 980 people sadly died past 24 hours, yet football elite still talking about playing behind closed doors to finish the season. How callous, you know what fans should tell the fuckers to play all future games behind closed doors.

They are quiet clearly treating the fans with complete disdain, perhaps the fans should return the compliment.

The Irish government have issued a statement saying the lockdown will continue until 5th May minimum, I suspect we will follow this given that part of the UK (Northern Ireland) borders the Republic.

Surely the sensible action to take is to void this season and plan for the next season, otherwise two seasons will be affected instead of just one.

.

I can’t see us coming out of lockdown until the end of May surely it’s got to be null and void but they will try anything to finish it by what I have been reading , playing behind closed doors and testing players for Covid 19 etc .

Depends what the players agree to. As Kev has said, they’ll need a few weeks training if they want to continue.

Make no mistake, if they had to choose, the majority of the clubs would want the games to go on with fans in the stands.
Fans are just numbers that fill the finances.

Simple.

They'll have to test much more than just the players even to play behind closed doors. Think about all the supporting staff that would be needed at the ground and in the broadcast office to make something like that happen.

Our lockdown in Seattle was extended until May 4th and we got hit a few weeks before the UK. It's not going to happen anytime soon.

Hopefully everyone will come to their senses and just cancel the season so we can start fresh in the fall. I'd hate to see a forced close to this season that then forces an abbreviated next year.

With St Johns committed to the NHS football is irrelevant at the present time.

Good point - if this season's finished behind closed doors, what's to stop next season being started behind closed doors, and what would that do to clubs who get the lion's share of their non-TV/prize money cash from matchday revenue, like Brighton or Watford?

Voted.

If you add up the various do not finish season v restart options it is 58%-41% against restarting, although some of the do not finish options would recognise current placings.

It is sounding very possible that anything that involves large crowds ie football may be delayed until August 2021!!!

So never mind finishing this season it’s looking like the following season may not even start
