Elated for him - he made a statement not only for himself but for the youngsters as well.

The whole board has been singing his praises since he first appeared for us in the US in one of the preseasons.

Spot on, I sat with bobbybrows watching him against the rags at the end of last year, he had a frustrating first half but then took the game away from them in the second, looks a real gem!

Sterling on sky sports had never heard of him when he scored. At the final whistle he knew all about the youth World Cup and that he was player of the tournament and he had a good pre season for us.

Next time he scores he will know who he is alright
