For me the only thing that could make this ok is if Mourinho gets the job. my second choice would be rafa based on a lack of alternatives and me not trusting Pellegrini with phase 3.

1.Ancelloti
2.Mourinho
3.Klopp

I'd have Klopp as number one, Mourinho as number two and Ancellotti as number three.

Those three would at least give Mancini sacking some sense. You could make a case for any of those three saying they might be improvement on Mancini. Some people are making desperate cases for Pellegrini now just because he is the target trying to explain it to themselves just as much as to me.

I hope you're not including me in that.

I know very little about him, I'm just not thick enough to think Soriano and co don't know everything about him.

Also, I'm not sure why anyone would want to desperately explain why they want a particular manager to you? It makes no sense. Actually, who said Pelligrini was their first choice? I missed that one I think? Names.

No, I'm not including you because you are one of the few who readily admit not knowing enough about him. I've read enough posts where people read his Wikipedia page and are now telling what an awesome manager he is.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

All we know (I haven't checked the media today yet though) is that Kidd will be temporary caretaker.

Well i did'nt read his wiki page but i have done some online research and seen interviews from people on TV who think that Pellegrini is a fantastic coach so if Manchester City Football Club want to put him in charge that's fine by me and he will get my full support until he proves you right and MCFC wrong.

The new man was on the wish list of every team. Maybe 2nd choice at Bayern, but linked with all the contenders. We have a better coach and man manager coming in lets crack on.

One thing I will say. I'm looking forward to a bit of unity. Feels like an age since we had it.

Don't get me wrong, I don't want some shitbag that has sleepovers and pj parties but no tactics.

But it would be nice to see a united team all pushing in the same direction.

Oh and attacking football. Please give us attacking football again! The first 3 months of last season was breathtaking.

Problem is teams figured us out and we had no plan B. We were unable to up the pace and tempo and play like we did in the first 3 months.
Let's hope Pellegrini does.

City now has a really good chance to see better days. Not that the days weren't bright, but with so much talent in our squad, you have to expect and get more out of it.

And when that manager doesn't play Dzeko? What then?

Not playing Dzeko and being a bad manager in general at the same time was only coincidental for Mancini.

If the new manager decides to play without Dzeko, then I expect justifiable reason behind it. Previous manager didnt make much sense for it.
You are neglecting wings, crosses, direct style of play - OK. But let's see, what do we get for it.
Just give me a reason for not using CF with a great header possibilities. And Im fine with that.

The thing is, the way I see it - our play making is boring. We are far too predictable. Im not saying Dzeko is the worlds greatest player, but - when you use him properly, like you can, like Mancini never did, he can make things happen for you.
The most important thing for a forward is speed of thought. Top players read the game.

I think his autocratic style was his principal undoing. OK, managers need to be strong and be themsleves, but he was too distant, too autocratic, I think. At least I get that impression. The players, however well paid and talented, need more than that. Was he arrogant? Maybe.

However, Pellegrini does not fill me with anything other than a sense of WTF?

What a mess.

you write 'autocratic style'. perhaps Dougie could. help here?. He always seemed to be very much a hands on, involved person in training, suggesting to me the opposite.

We could get Klopp, he's riding the wave at the moment. He was dumped out of Mainz some years back and when Dortmund almost went broke, he seemed the right type to steady the ship. He has indeed exceeded all expectations.

If we're not going for Jose, even if i don't want him, Juergen would be a great alternative
