Yeah I think somebody else is after a move..

Saha did the same thing when he moved from Fulham to the Filth, no wonder he is defending him.

Word is that most, maybe all the players feel the same way. Moyes' golden boy Cahill said the same thing last week. Most of the football world think he's has made an arse of it too along with many of the supporters.

It's all been a personal ego thing with Moyes rather than what's best for the club. He resents the fact that City are in this position & doesn't want to sell to us. It'd all be sorted by now if he'd thought about what's best for his club & the player rather than trying to pretend he & Everton are immune to huge bids because it's come from City rather than Utd.

If that bid had come from Ferguson he'd've accepted it, patted Lescott on the back, wished him good luck & moved on armed with loads of money.

Don't you think the fact that we are trying to leapfrog Everton has something to do with it? He probably considers Everton to be stronger than City at the moment and trading us Lescott for Taylor would weaken them and strengthen us.

Thats probably the gist of Moyes bitterness, and the fact that he thinks the sun shines out of Ferguson's backside too.

City have certainly been smart in weakening Villa, Everton and Arsenal this off-season. Perhaps its time we paid Arry back for blabbing to his favourite tabloids about Kaka back in January, and rocked the boat over at Spurs a bit. That would probably complete the set.

I agree with Slim here...they have had a few strong seasons under Moyes and he probably thinks (deluded or not) that he has a chance at CL football next year.

I don't think so mate. Even Moyes aint blinkered enough to think that they are stronger than us right now, even if we don't get Lescott.

There is no reason for him not to sell him to us for that big fat wedge of dough IMO.

Moyes is one of the prime candidates for Taggart's job at the swamp in a lot of folks oppinion and I would bet my last quid on there not being a problem if the devilworshipers were the bidders for Lescott. What happened with Shrek is testimony to this and now Everton are reaping the seeds that they sowed themselves.

It's laughable how stupid they are looking and their fans are quite rightly not happy about it. This type of farce used to happen regularly to us so it's quite satisfying that it's happening to one of the rivals that we are going to leapfrog this season:o)

It's more the fact that they see us going past them & resent it imo. The fans initially had the same attitude but have mostly realised it's a mistake now. They've been complaining that lack of money was holding them back. If they'd taken ours they'd now have a much stronger side & Sky the money in their pockets. Id be much more worried about Everton as a rival if they'd signed 4-5 players rather than if they keep Lescott. The way they play, Lescott is replacable, they use him as left back sometimes; that proves it.

..and Burt's dead right about Rooney.

Funny you should say that, Moyes latest story was him signing 4 players (one is taylor, which I believe can only mean the deal will go through probably Tuesday(at a guess)). I honestly think he is setting himself up as the replacement for bacon and wants to send out a statement that even the mighty billions of Manchester City will not intimidate him. The problem is he has made this all about him and even has a touch of the Don Quixote's about him now, slaying imaginary enemies of his own creation.

I can only think we have something else up our sleeve, Upson maybe. Otherwise we are only a couple of injuries from Tal Ben Haim at present ... yikes.

Lescott would be a great signing given he's left footed. If Mo Syzlak or boggle eyes thinks he can take the piss then we should walk away until January. As I see it even with suspensions and injuries we shouldn't (I HOPE!) see TBH.

Ned & Toure
Dunne & Toure
Ned & Dunne
Ned & Micah
Dunne & Micah
Toure & Micah

Granted a couple of these wont have moved us forward from last year but they should be enough to keep us in contention until the next window.

I've not seen the reserves for a few months but there are probably one or two in there who can play understudy to Toure & ned from the bench.
lets wish for good days but not forget the bad days

just looking at it all again
Did Hughes actually say the deal was dead and that we are no longer interested in him?
Or is it SSN usually mis interpretation??

Sounds pretty much like it here:

When pushed on whether there comes a time to turn to other targets, Hughes confirmed he is no longer looking to sign Lescott.

He added: "I've said time and time again it comes to a point where sometimes you think it's not going to happen and you walk away from situations, and that's what we've done."

When he says 'that's what we have done' - he means in the past with deals like Et'o etc. Not with Lescott.

Just clicked on Newsnow and there's a link to a Sky Sports story with the headline 'City Pull Plug On Lescott' but when you click the link it comes up as 'City Still Keen On Lescott'! Talk about backtracking!
