I wouldn't expect a short answer (unless I was being told to fuck off) if I asked someone how they came to their opinion.

You like this player and instead of being clever or coming up with something decent, you call him a dick. I wonder if he'd be happy about that. I don't know bluemoon or citymancs, but I do know we bought a player who was lacking match fitness, not injured. I don't feel the need to invalidate other people's opinions even if I think they are wrong, that's a little pathetic isn't it? Destroy any other opinion that differs from yours? I can look at a win and a loss and find good and bad in both, only happy clapper fanboys can't. And this point that you think you have, do you need to deflect the blame onto Barry? We weren't talking about Barry, if you need to draw focus away from De Jong, well...speaks volumes doesn't it?

Aside from that you have spent a lot of effort making no points, you can reply but if you can't come up with a decent point then don't expect a reply.

Say again pal, I want to have his babies but call him a dick? Fuck me man, how low you gonna stoop, has no one called Bellamy 'Bellend' or has no one called Hughes a Cock/Cunt/Twat etc, and yet I say it without any malice? You say you don't know these sites but then criticise those on it? And why am I trying to destroy an opinion, all's I was reasoning is how you came to that opinion. There are many more things I'd like to point out but as usual, you point out that there is no point made.

So, we'll leave it there as I know you are a man of your word and won't reply; then neither shall I.

Peace!!!

Wait wait wait, I am willing to concede he was not the worst player on the park on Sunday, but to go from awful performance to decent performance to (reported) MotM against Fulham second string does not in any way, shape or form make him a well rounded midfielder.

I didn't see the Fulham game, but assuming he hasn't broken a long standing tradition, he hasn't got a shot on target EVER in a City shirt, can't pass the ball forwards and if he does get caught in possession which happens despite the glow from his halo blinding some of our posters, he inevitably loses the ball.

Barry, Ireland, Johnson...all yes, De Jong and Kompany are most definitely NOT well rounded midfielders.

I said 'by all accounts' uncle Slim. I didn't say I thought so...

Yes. I often say things I don't mean, it makes me completely unaccountable for everything I may or may not believe in, do or say.

Hold on hold on FFS! you're missing the point.

I posted this because at the time I was having a debate in which Ted was saying Ireland is in the middle of a learning curve on how to be a more orthadox midfielder.

I then wandered into this debate to see folk saying De Jong used to be an attacker and only became a Def Mid at Hamburg, so 'by all accounts' our midfield should be well rounded 'if the plan comes off'.

I shouldn't have typed all of this actually....I should have just said FUCK OFF YOU CUNT.

But hey ho.

It obviously depends in what context, but I agree with you and Slim, it is a bit of a 'Dickish' nickname and will cease from using it and now call him Nigel.

Out of interest, this was my interpretation and only intended to infer a 'A Big Man in a Small Package', so to speak:

Awful again tonight wasn't he - all those commentators / reviewers applauding his contribution (and it was all of them) know fuck all about football talent when compared to some of the masters on this board

Outstanding player, and in my opinion one of the best holding midfielders in world football. This lad has what it takes to become the real deal in world football. And he's a Manchester City player through and through

De Jong is a contender for player of the season so far imo. Absolutely class player, he takes far more criticism than he deserves. A world class defensive midfielder. We are really lucky to have him.

Have to say that was his best performance in a City shirt, I was very very impressed tonight. I was thinking before the game, that Kompany would come in and replace him, but if he carries on like that for the remainder of the season, then the transfer fee would be well worth every penny and Kompany may have to fight for a different position. We finally have true competition for places now and no one is safe, just how good is this !?!?

Whats I also got from tonight is that the crowd are really getting behind him and that the majority of people can see what a good job he is doing for the side. I love a good attacking player but its nice to see a crowd appreciate someone doing a good defensive job in a team packed with flair.

As good as knee jerking happy clapper fanboys.

You think people could show a little fucking character and perhaps wait six months or should we resurrect this thread after every game? You really think scratching the scab makes it better? You could have let this one die down and actually have a point in a few months, but you haven't and you don't. Next time he has a bad game, expect edge or NQDP to find this thread and poke holes in everything you have said and you have just justified them doing so. Pathetic effort.

Knee jerk? That would be NQDP yeah?

It's alright though... edge, robinho_is_god and zuricity agree with you.

de Jong will not come good at all. He is a nothing player, just running around making the occasional tackle. His distribution is poor and always to the right or backwards , a smaller , more robust but slower version of Gelson.

I said he had A SINGLE BAD GAME, which he did, and I have said the reasons why. I will be fucked it I have to defend him every fucking week from people who are more interested in saying "I told you so" than ACTUALLY having a look at the performance. Tonight wasn't a great performance from anyone, at times we looked under pressure from an average side and at times disinterested, this is not a criticism of De Jong but in those instances not one player shone, a fact that should not be lost on you.

And as you said Halfers, he has misplaced one pass in two games, the game I was saying he had a bad one, didn't he misplace 6 or 7 passes? And get tackled four times? And fail to retain possession after completing one single tackle? Oh right, yeah he did.

Move the fuck on and stop being so petty. You cunts are never quite as happy as when you are running down other forum posters, rather than enjoying the win.
