Just watching it on ESPN. An American is summarising. Brilliant. Reminds me of the parody account on Twiiter of an American soccer fan.

Got to say the end of the pitch City attacked in the first half was terrible from just outside the centre circle onwards. Not surprised the goals were scored at the other end

I just hope that, in the midst of all the possession football & tiki tacky stuff we are planning, we don't lose that moment, the one time we've seen it this season, where Tevez hits a ball to the far post, Garcia nods it accross the 6 yard box & we score.

We NEVER do shit like that in the Prem; NEVER. It's perfectly good, legitimate football. We don't have to pass the ball round the corner for overlapping fullbacks every time or come inside, we have players who can open up defences simply, just like that.

We do shoot on occasion in the PL. I agree that we should try it more, but don't over-exaggerate or over-simplify.

Part of the reason that possession football works so well is that you are basically playing defense with the ball. Controlling the game to make sure that you are not put in a risky position. I think that we should move the ball quicker when in possession, but I do not think that we need to be taking unnecessary chances and giving the ball up on low percentage shots.

It wasn't a shot, it was a diagonal ball, planted nicely on Garcia's head & a nice simple header for Micah to score. It was no different to any other passing move apart from it was delivered to the head rather than on the floor & it completely surprised Chelsea's defence.

We have not used a similar move on any other occasion. It's no less skilled than any of our other football; it was precision & quality.

Once again, it was a friendly game. The marking was horrendous from both teams and both teams were taking risks that they wouldn't normally take in a PL game. So to compare the two is pointless. It was entertainment to grow both teams brand in America and nothing more.

I know what I was watching & I know what I saw; something we are programmed not to do in the Prem, but could try, & more besides, to break down defences who have seen our other moves time & again. It works.

Silva was sumptuous yesterday.

At times we were too much like Arsenal...too many overpasses and not enough shooting from the edge of the box.
look at Bale, he unleashes those long range bombs.

You were watching a exhibition game, saw players taking risks they don't normally take, and not really playing defense. Don't read too much into it. You seem to have a very vivid imagination recently.

The key parts to it Ted were Garcia making the run into space which he so rarely did plus of course the superb pass from Tevez. Garcia ,or whoever must be given the licence to see situations like that and make the runs.We have the players who can make the pass.

It's 2 quid to watch on the OS. I don't mind paying but the OS feeds always seem to have problems with black blocks on my screen. Now I'm upto date and got myself a debit card (yeah, I know), I'm kinds thinking that I should just get a river?

And how, the problem as I see it, with Silva, Nasri, Aguero or Tevez usually occupying those spaces, you have to deliver a ball in the air for a guy who is 5'8" in heels.

Dzeko, Yaya or (in this case)Garcia in that space and look what happened.

When is this starting? I have checked 3 rivers so far and none of them are playing the game that by my calculations should have started 6 minutes ago.
