Think your confusion is because he was Forlan's strike partner at independiente Rodney...

You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline. It helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer.

I hear Pelligrini sold Garcia from RM within 1 month as "surplus to requirements".
That doesnt bode well for him.

No it doesn't, but it may be deemed easier to let Barry go as he's later in his contract.

This would be a mistake imo. Fernandinho is not a replacement for Barry & this is not the Ukraine.

Anyone noticed that Garcia is in the Spain squad for the Confed Cup btw ? All those players to choose from & he gets a shirt. Proves that, in the right set up, he's a highly rated player (but so is Javi Martinez & he can't run either). Horses for courses.

Ted,
He was in the provisional 26 man squad but was dropped for the 23 man squad. (Not too shabby for such a good team but he's still out!)
http://uk.reuters.com/article/2013/06/0 ... D820130602

"Xabi Alonso was left out of Spain's squad for the Confederations Cup in Brazil this month when Vicente del Bosque cut his list to 23 on Sunday. The 31-year-old has been an integral part of the Spain team who won Euros 2008 and 2012, and the World Cup in 2010, but he has been struggling with a groin problem for the last few weeks of the La Liga season.
The other two players to drop out of the provisional list from last Monday were Manchester City's versatile midfielder Javi Garcia and Real Betis midfielder Benat Etxebarria.
Squad:
Goalkeepers: Iker Casillas (Real Madrid), Victor Valdes (Barcelona), Pepe Reina (Liverpool)
Defenders: Alvaro Arbeloa (Real Madrid), Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid), Gerard Pique (Barcelona), Cesar Azpilicueta (Chelsea), Jordi Alba (Barcelona), Ignacio Monreal (Arsenal), Raul Albiol (Real Madrid)
Midfielders: Javi Martinez (Bayern Munich), Xavi (Barcelona), Andres Iniesta (Barcelona), Sergio Busquets (Barcelona), Santi Cazorla (Arsenal)
Forwards: Cesc Fabregas (Barcelona), David Villa (Barcelona), David Silva (Manchester City), Roberto Soldado (Valencia), Pedro (Barcelona), Juan Mata (Chelsea), Jesus Navas (Sevilla), Fernando Torres (Chelsea)."

Strange. He was in the squad on the website, ( which was either confed or Spain's or something) I was looking at yesterday (to see if Silva had to go). Mustn't be up to date.

Ah well, cheers. Point still stands though; he wouldn't get in an England provisional squad but he gets in Spain's. Horses for courses.

I've been looking for youtube footage of Fernadinho (for those who haven't seen him play) & can only find the occasional golazo but I had a look on the Bluemoon thread & found this Metacafe one, of all his touches v Chelsea.

This just spells it out perfectly imo & shows what an absolute quality signing we have made & the potential we could unleash.

Note though that the blonde bloke next to him mostly hangs back & covers behind him; playing like Gareth Barry used to do last season before Bob tried to make him go all Fertnandinho, NOT racing off down the pitch like Yaya Toure.

Years in a tough country playing against hard players and with weather that would make you want to stay indoors.

He will fit in fine in Manchester and at our club, class signing and we will be drooling when we see what he brings to the table this coming season.
THEY SAY SWEARING IS DUE TO A LIMITED VOCABULARY. I KNOW THOUSANDS OF WORDS, BUT I STILL PREFER "FUCK OFF" TO "GO AWAY"

Though that is clearly true; he's a much better player, i'm not entirely a fan of that argument. By that logic David May is vastly better than Nastasic...bullshit :)

Martinez is 24 plays for Spain in a 9 caps would be like 50 for England, DM is not only a cunt he is a rag cunt, who. Using the name should get you a ban, Ferny is a top class player, IMHO if the figures banded about are true he is never ever 34 mill. I can see the logic in him coming here he will be our Busquettes, I dont see the future being to bright for some others including Garcia, Barry or even Milner, the squad is taking on a better shape with round pegs hopefully in round holes, something Mancini, tried to be to clever with far to often, costing us points and him his cred with the players.

I would put money on Milner featuring heavily under Pellegrini - the guy apparently likes industry and effort (his teams are known for it) and Milner personifies it.

so is this guy like a Garcia/Javi Martinez, who likes to sit right in front of the back 4? or is he like a Xabi Alonso, sitting back and playing passes over the top? or is he like a Yaya Toure who can go box to box?

You should get an answer. Many people on here have clearly been following Ukrainian football for several years now.

Navas, has just dropped in on the right with Zabba, CM will be full, I LIKE him TBH just seeing his options for a regular starting position starting to look limited.
