Khaldoon is there quite often and I think (but don't know) that he is more hands on then people realise he just keeps a low profile. I don't carry any brief for Cook whatsover and certainly he should never be allowed to speak in public but I do think part of his job is to run interference for the Sheikh and Khaldoon in the media.

If Cook should never be allowed to speak in public then exactly why is he our CEO? The Smithers to the Abu Dhabi Burns. It must be part of his job to deal with the Media. If he can no longer do it then he's not fit to serve his purpose and should be pushed out of the door. I respect Khaldoon because he seems professional. I've not warmed to Cook since the day he came in. He seems false and insincere. Smarmy.

Let's face it, Hughes' sacking was pretty ruthless. If the decision was formally made after the Tottenham defeat then he should've been sacked after that Match and Brian Kidd put in charge until Bobbeh Manceh was ready to come in. This has stoked up all the ill-feeling and it's completely of our own making. Before that, I genuinely believe that we had a great deal of support from Fans of other Clubs who wanted to see a new challenge made on the Top 4 regardless of how it was made. We've blown it.

Typical City.

Coming from the man whose paranoid post-Pub ramblings insisted that Hughes was going to do a bad job on purpose because he used to play for the RAGs? I'm seeing you in a worse and worse light all the time.

We're all guilty of wanting instant success. Has I've stated in anothe thread, mancini needs time to put his own personnal stamp on the squad, not 3 months as most fans seem to have given him.

Yesterdays win, should in theory, give us a boost, to move forward with confidence. Its 2 weeks until our next game, which should allow some players to get some freshness back in their legs for the final push, for the top 3.

That's the best thing Dev could come up with unfortunately.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Somewhere in here is the problem or the truth. No way that performance yesterday was brilliant. Of course we are rejoicing because it was a brilliant result but brilliant performance no.

The first half till we scored was the same as many of the previous performances and was leading us nowhere and the team as an attacking force did not exist. Carlos and their keeper gave us the opportunity to look good and we took it. For a while we looked good , not brilliant as even when they were down to 9 men they managed to control the ball better than we did.

Anyway that's gone now and we have to replicate that belief and second half performance against whoever we come up against

Doug you´re on the money once again - how many chances did Chavski have with 9 - at least 2 clear cut ones - don´t want to be a damp squib but we took our chances for once yesterday

BASED ON WHAT IVE SEEN IN THE LAST 8 MATCHES I THOUGHT BRILLIANT WAS APT FOR THAT SECOND HALF PERFORMANCE ALTHOUGH ARGUABLY BRILLIANT IS PROBABLY AN EXAGGERATION!!...THE FIRST 4O MINS WAS PREDICTABLE AND DIRE LIKE IT HAS BEEN FOR AGES AND I JUST CANNOT UNDERSTAND THOSE TACTICS EMPLOYED BY THE MANAGER....YOU JUST KNEW IT WAS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE WE CONCEDED...AND WE DID.
I STILL THINK WE WERE SOLID ON THE MOST PART IN DEFENSE AND WASNT REALLY SHITTING IT AS I USED TO WHEN THE OPO WAS IN OUR AREA,,,I THOUGHT WE HANDLED THEM WELL OVERALL AND THE PENALTY AGAINST US WAS A JOKE..IT REALLY WAS.

THE WAY WE PASSED IT AROUND IN THE SECOND HALF WAS GREAT TO SEE AND IM JUST GLAD WE CLICKED AS WE MADE IT LOOK EASY AT TIMES.

COULD THIS BE TRUE THAT THE SQUAD HAS FINNALY CLICKED ?

Trust you to say something stupid like that - the first half was exactly like the last 7 or games - absolutely negative and fearful.

The second half was electric. To say the entire performance was amazing tells me once again, you didn't watch the whole game. I really worry for your reading of a football match sometimes.

Doug - great post and as other have said, bang on the money. Great result, great second half. Poor performance first half.

Maybe all the shite we've been witnessing of late was a confidence thing and that first Tevez goal out it to rest? I sure as fuck hope so! We'll find out in the next game which half on the saturday was the REAL city...

IVE JUST FINISHED WATCHING THAT SECOND HALF AGAIN AND ILL REVERT BACK TO MY ORIGINAL POST...WE DID PLAY BRILLIANTLY..MADE CHELSEA LOOK FUCKING ORDINARY.
OUR LINK UP PLAY WAS EXCELLENT. THEY DID COME AT US WITH 9 MEN LOOKING FOR ANOTHER GOAL AND PAYED THE PRICE WHEN WE SCORED OUR 4TH.

EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE SECOND HALF.

I don't see the problem with the word 'Brilliant' to explain the game yesterday. Yes, if you want to break it down into segments, minutes or passes then you can put the game whichever way you want. But overall, you can say that winning 4-2 away at Stamford Bridge, to a team that hasn't lost there in 15 months and are currently top of the league, is nothing more than brilliant.

I'm sure most had pre-designated this game as a loss with the hope of a point, so having taken that, what would you call it overall?

You're asking me what I'd call the result, when I've already said the result is fantastic.

We played one half shite and the other brilliant. To say the whole performance was brilliant is a crock of shit. Say what you see, its normally the safest way to go...

Brilliant Performance 'Overall' or Fantastic Result, sounds the same to me mate. Must be that people express themselves different.

Ah well, just thought I'd mention it ;-1

In one sense it's playing with words in another it's all about not going OTT. More often than not our performance in the first half against a good side playing well would see us losing at half time. We were for the most part dire and lacking desire.

We found Chelsea on at best an average day but with a garbage keeper which gave us a chance and we took that chance brilliantly. We played very well for most of the second half and we ended with a brilliant and yes very surprising result. Here's to many more of them. But the 90 minutes was far from a brilliant performance and for those who think it was I fear you have low standards.

I find it wierd that you say it's a play on words Doug, don't feelings come into it. I'd assume that most people would have been ecstatic about the win yesterday and would have come out with similar superlatives. Yes, people come down to earth faster than others but I presonally would say that was a Brilliant result and a Fantastic performance (see what I did there) overall.

Yes, I have my doubts and concerns on individual/formational/tactical issues, but overall I am very, very pleased. Oh, and don't worry too much about those who see it in a different manner and just want to enjoy the win, theirs always the next game, or post, to bring them down to earth.

Arguably our best result since winning at the shit hole two years ago and we're bloody wingeing.
That second half performance was a well as we've played all season imo.

I thought the performance in both halves was great. Chelsea applied a lot of pressure in the first half. The way some people
react ( for example that prize prat , Hansen, on MOTD) you would think we were awful until they scored, which simply was not the case.

Also Barry's chip to Bellamy has been described as a long kick up to a front man. Bellamy was in our half when Barry made the chip.
