Whilst I still have faith in most of the players I think some of them are starting to believe their own hype, Tevez was awful today, all the industry in the world is pointless if you can't play a decent ball to your teammates, Adebayor just didn't look up for it in the second half and RSC despite winning a few headers gave the ball away just as much. Micah is still nowhere near his former self, especially going forward and seems to not be paying attention at teams. Bellamy has been anonymous for over a month now and todays cameo was no different.

On the plus side, Lescott's best game for us, Bridge great again, SWP's best game in weeks, Nige was quality and Stevie looked happier with Robbie in the team. As for Robbie himself, thank god he's back and lets hope that Tevez follows his example on the ball, yes he sometimes takes three players on but he just as often plays it first time or rolls a simple ball to a teammate, total class and when he went off we lost any sense of danger going forward.

Unfortunately tactically we were woeful in the second half, can Hughes only make like for like substitutions? Does any know if he has any history of changing things round tactically in games with Blackburn or Wales? Why bring on an out of sorts Bellamy when Johnson and Kompany are sat on the bench and we obviously need to tighten things up?

I've got to disagree with you about Tevez (other than his inability to hit a barndoor from spitting distance) - one move that was typical of him today was the long throw from Given to Tevez in midfield, who runs half the length of the pitch with the ball pulling several opposition players out of position before laying off to Robi in their box for him to get a shot on target - the guy was doing similar stuff throughout the match as far as I could see, and his passes along the floor when he is a little deeper than the front line are an absolute joy (I'd love to see him in an attacking midfielder role)

Adebayor - useless and disinterested. Tevez - couldn't hit a cow's arse with a handful of gravel from ten paces.
Toure - so unconvincing it's (literally) not true. Richards - ok, still a bit nervy tho (but not as nervous as the rest of us).

Thought the rest of the team were ok, although Ireland's passing was a bit off in teh second half, and RSC and Bellers failed to make much of an impact in limited pitch time.

We just aren't mean enough to shut up shop, or hungry enough to finish a game off. Both keepers had very little to do today in a game where our players looked no where near the supposed gulf in class apart from Hull, and I have no idea what Hughes could have done differently to alter the result.

There's a guy on my row who turns up 20 mins in, and leaves 5 or 10 minutes before the half-time/final whistle every game without fail. I'm starting to think he's on to something...

Couldn't disagree more, he was god awful today, more especially in the second half. Lost count of the number of times he either played the ball into the oppo or behind his teammates, more than one occasion where he could have played Robby in to have an easy shot he played it behind so Robby had to drag it from behind him. As I said, he is full of industry but the final ball was shocking today from him and whoever decided to let him take free kicks mustn't have seen him take them for us

I know Khaldoon was there but I wouldn't have thought he'd have left so soon after the final whistle, I thought he usually stayed behind in Garry Cooks Exec lounge. Maybe he was as disgusted at the result as me and didn't want to be hanging around, unless it was someone else of high importance, I don't know.
