Surely if he quits he doesn't get paid out the contract.
Maybe I'm wrong, these rich cunts live under different rules to the rest of us.

Think the only way hw gets money if he quits is with constructive dismissal i.e. Chelsea hierarchy interfering in his day to day duties. We should not be interfering if he's owed money contractually from them.

How the fuck do we pay £17M to Chelsea for Maresca?
I am truly shocked and it’s another nail closer to closing the coffin lid on football for me

Looking at Maresca's numbers during the year at Chelsea, its interesting that in attacking stats, he was either 1st or 2nd in the league in nearly every measure. He finished 4th in his first full year and left them in 5th place, with them ending up 10th. Given the chaos of Chelsea's transfer policy, there's an argument he did pretty well there.
By all accounts the signings continued to be mental during his time, short on CB and goalkeeper, but signing Garnacho instead.
In possession, he generally setup 3-2-5 and definitely followed the inverted full/wingbacks, so even at Chelsea he was following the approach City were setup for, but just with a lesser calibre of player
When you weigh up his time and Chelsea, and before that at Leicester, its fair to see why he's rated

It’s not the appointment of Maresca that shocks me. On balance he’s probably the right guy at the right time.
It’s paying a club a reported £17M for someone who isn’t an employee of theirs anymore. That alone could wipe £15 off every ticket at the Etihad for the whole season or thereabouts. Many fans who struggle to pay for their tickets but do so out of love.
It is the way football has been for a while now but my love for the game is diminishing and quite quickly

It's the fact that Maresca told Chelsea he was talking to us. We will need to just suck it up im afraid.

Yes, the fact that he mouthed off to the Chavs , for me is a warning sign. I say no, get someone else

However, they are all footballers or ex footballers. Not necessarily the sharpest.

I think he basically walked out on them early when he knew he was coming to City rather than see out the rest of the season because Chelsea is such a basket case so Chelsea are arguing we tapped him up and should have to pay a fee as if we took him from them.
It's probably fair to be honest if you look at it from a contractual and legal perspective.
