You still in Crete? Drier than Cornwall? Where's next week's holiday?

Premier League captains say players will demonstrate ongoing commitment to fighting racism. Premier League captains have confirmed that players will once again take the knee before specific matches during the 2023/24 season, to demonstrate their ongoing commitment to fight racism and all forms of discrimination.

Taking the knee has spread across the sporting world as a statement against racism and the PL has specifically stated it is not an endorsement of BLM politics whatever that highly questionable movement might try to claim. The gesture has much deeper historical roots.

I can think of many more eloquent and persuasive critics than Cruncher Curtis - all of them being capable of distinguishing the difference between supporting the BLM agenda and the pressing need to counter racial discrimination in sport and society. It is a pity a suitably powerful alternative gesture could not have been adopted to replace taking the knee with its increasingly unwelcome political associations.

Mods can we shut this down FFS?

JC pethaps explain why this is so personal to you, if not shut the fuck up, i am fairly sure that i am not the only one bored with you banging on about it.

Can we get back to football please....

For the record i am indifferent to if they continue or not. But i will agree that it does come across as being a tired concept with the original message no longer has the effect it had.

Out of interest JC seeing as this really is a cause you want to champion.

What other leagues national or international continue taking the kniee? In particular MLS, La Liga, seria A, Bundesliga, Ligue1

Secondly whatever English sports take the knee?

Rugby league, Rugby union, cricket, hockey, athletics meets, ice hockey, netball, basketball?

I ask as i genuinely don't know?

It's not personal mate, what really annoyed me was describing the appalling murder of George Floyd as "a drug addict who died while being arrested". That's the sort of thing you expect from the US racist right wing not to see on here from somebody to trying make a cheap point about taking the knee losing its impact.

It’s “not personal” but you suggested a moderator would be a good fit for the KKK because they deleted your post showing a dead body on a football forum…

Grow up.

Agree 100%, the poster who introduced it with some seriously sick remarks will probably take no notice though .
