First match he played at Maine Road was all over kicking everybody. Tried a lunge at Big Joe ! Joe warned him . He tried it again and Big Joe waited until he came flying in and with a deft fake move of the shoulder hit him full on , taking the ball and player. Flattened the arrogant arse.

Agree re summerbee, John. I was in the Kippax that day. Never seen Blues turn on a City player like that before or since. Oleg McNolegs would have put more of a sprint in.

I remember Nicky Summerbee was on Record Breakers where he broke the world record for the fastest shot in football. When we signed him I remembered this and thought we had got ourselves a gem. Sitting in the Umbro stand after that I realised how wrong I was.
