Didn't know he did lap dancing. What level has he achieved with his lap dancing studies ??
He must be a really talented individual indeed.

I know he is often lampooned on here because of his OG record, but what do people really remember of him. I thought he was a better player than most gave him credit for, and above all else he was honest. He gave 100% and this is what endeared him to fans of both City and Ireland, where he sometimes seemed almost single-handedly to keep us in games.
He moved on with dignity when the club decided that they needed upgrades in his position. Some would argue that with the season we just had, we could have done with his commitment in a younger version of himself, amongst our central back pairings.
I wish him well whatever his decision. He always went about his business in an understated way.

And I agree Wooders, the Dunney/Distin partnership was as good as it gets, the perfect blend for a centre back pairing in my view.

What's that coming out of defence, oh it's a monster, the Dunney monsterrrr

I even got royally slated for saying I missed Dunne during the 09/10 season when Toure and Lescott were playing pants. And that season Dunne got into the PFA team of the year (no City player did that year).
I maintain he was sold a season too soon. We didn't know then that Kompany was a better centre half than he was a midfielder. But the worst thing was his departure gave games to Nedum who really was shite.
Water under the bridge now but he wasn't "lampooned" or "ridiculed" he was fucking crucified at the time (that's my recollection).

Absolute fucking buffoon of a player & typical of the kind of clown fans over here used to deify. Earlier, next to Distin, he had a couple of very good seasons & one in particular, he was top class, but prior to that he was a fat drunken waste of fucking space taking money off us under false pretences. He owed us every single decent performance, for the time he spent stealing a living.
Wish him all the best for his retirement, but having players like him & Barton as our 'heroes' just showed what a pathetic state we were in at the time.

What a miserable load of angry bitter pious bollocks. The worst part is the smug "typical of the kind of clown fans over here used to deify" shite... Did you turn up at games just to spit and rage just because we didn't have Baresi?!
I absolutely love Dunney: He turned it around while still a young man and it says it all that he's going on as a pro well into his mid-30s. He also played more games than anyone (except Goater) during the unbelievably brilliant 01/02 season which I will never forget. If you think that was "pathetic", then you're a red.
The most underrated thing about him was his straight line pace - loved the site of him rumbling down on some startled winger who'd foolishly knocled it towards the corner:

On a side note ,any players that Niall Quins Disco pants liked ??...maybe he will come and post again after a years sabatical.

Players with no talent who look as if they are doing their best, are typical icons from the past in English football. Dunne is one of those imo. But he was also the one who would get sent off when desperately needed, or give up & seem to lose all heart when things didn't go his way.
You are entitled to have enjoyed watching him, I am entitled to have hated it, which I did; really really hated watching him play football. Imo he was fucking horrible. No need for any insults because I feel that way. Grow up.
