***Burnley POST Match Thread*** (split from Matchday thread)

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

What we do next season is there to be discussed, but this today is a bunch of top quality players, playing like cunts.

Usually when players' performances drop like this there's something wrong behind the scenes. If it turns out that a couple of players started the discontent within the squad then they need shipping, otherwise it's probably not something we can pin on the players. Or I mean, we could, but I don't see the point other than for making some sort of moral point.
"I used to be 6 foot 2 with curly hair, look what it's done to me"

"In my career so far it's the most important goal. You score the goal in the last minute to win the title. You're not sure if that's ever going to happen in your career again. I wish I could tell you how I did it but I can't. I thought for all the world that Mario was going to have a go himself but he just moved it on one more and it fell at my feet and I just thought: 'Hit the target, hit it as hard as you can and hit the target.' And it went in."

All the talent in the world this lot but no fight. With the games we have failed to win we deserve fook all this season. Waved the white flag. Not good enough. Handed the title to Chelsea on a silver platter with bows on.
Balotelli......that's a brilliant finish.

Nowt he could do imo.

I called this last week. Not surprised at all. I don't care which of these goes next season but I hope they don't just give them an excuse by sacking the manager & letting them get away with it.

Nowt he could do, are you fucking kidding me! He's the fucking manager and if he doesn't have an influence what fucking use is he?

Seriously ? Formation was the problem ?

When ur being outplayed in midfield u bring another midfielder on to stop that
Eg 4-5-1 and get them going forward, not wait untilthey score and make a change

Yep. Major rebuild. Sick of these fair weather clowns who turn it on when it suits them - which isn't very often. They got Mancini the sack, they appear to want the same for Pellergrini, and even if we had Guardiola his second season would be much like this one and two years ago. Get rid of this lot for a start:

Hart
Clichy
Kolarov
Kompany
Toure
Milner
Fernando
Fernadinho
Nasri

We have less talented players I'd rather stay because at least they give more in attitude.

i know we are upset, but of course i was joking about a 4-2-4.

to suggest that formation has nothing to do with things is more debatable though as i do think 4-3-3 could suit us.

i do however believe it's mostly the makeup of the team and players' mentalities.

i'd suggest we will move some key players this close season to address this.

sad.

agree 100%.

seems the debate amongst us seems to be is it the players or the manager?

2 managers in 4 years with 2 titles, and horrific title defences to follow each one.

no reason to believe a new manager will have a long term impact, and who is available will not likely suit our philosophy anyway.

pellers stays for another season, some players will go.

simple solution - pay - you win you get paid - you draw, you get half wages - you lose, fuck off you ain't getting a penny/euro whatever - simple. This is all about desire and wanting to win not wages/status! Overpaid trash living it large and we help pay their wages - bollocks.

Yeah that would do it. We were struggling to get the ball.

Ffs 71% fucking possession & we need more midfielders. What utter shite.

Whether it's the manager or not I've no idea, but I'm 100% sure it's the fucking players after watching that. Any 11 in any formation should be better than that. It's disgusting.

theres definitely a problem in the dressing room which is being taken on to the pitch, imo you dont generally drop your captain however badly they play but pellegrini did, perhaps a clash of personalities between manager and players, which the players had with mancini and they won, perhaps the same is happening now. one point is we have hardly any pace except for aguero and navas, and navas is equivalant of martin petrov only right footed and not as goood.

I tell you what smart arse, you fucking tell us like you always fucking do. Guess what, I'm not paid 5-6 million a year to set tactics and motivate a fucking multi-million pound team, but Pellers is.

Now tell me, what is the managers job, is not not to set tactics, see where our weaknesses are and change the shape/team to suit?

Obviously not, the managers job is just to say I'll play one fucking way and you'll like it or lump it.

The players aren;t at their best, we can all see that, but still, there's no fucking change.

Maybe he could play one or two of the youth, at least they'd want to prove. But no, same old, same old.

We need huge change, and that includes Pellers system.

Neither of us were attaching importance to the formation - he just asked if it had changed since the subs, I was saying it hadn't. Neither of us implied that the formation was the reason we were having problems either.
