"Take nothing away from Man City...but"

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

I Looked on the BBC football website late last night and they hadn't bothered to swap the Live report out from the headline spot. I thought ahh, probs dont want to have to lead with a City story.

Now the next evening, with no football on tonight, or tomorrow to preview and so the only game to 'report on' and the only significant football 'news' was the game last night.
No match report. No League Cup Semi reports. Headline about Fat Sam and WH. No story at all about City on the whole front page.

That is both a disgrace and bias in the extreme.

From the BBC website
Am I missing something?
David Moyes nominated for Premier League manager of month

Manchester United boss David Moyes is among the nominees for the Barclays Premier League manager of the month award for December.
United have lost their past three games in all competitions, but won four, drew once and lost twice in their seven league games last month.
Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini, who went unbeaten in December, is also nominated.

Fair enough. I just tend to find things like that are the kind of stuff plastic fans refer to down the pub as proof of their football knowledge. Not questioning yourself, but those things do really make me cringe.

It's clearly shite because any such person would be unlikely to be a City supporter and, if supporting Bolton or United, would most likely be biased against City. So either it shows how the emotions experienced in defeat can make someone utter complete nonsense, or Rodgers is potty anyway.

Plus I know someone that knows him and he hates anything to do with both City and the scum!

The only thing that worries me is every football fan I talk to vaguely capable of an objective view has us as certs for the title. Always a worry to us old boys with long memories. Apparently we've won the capital 1 cup already, lol. However, the football we are playing at home is like the ballet on ice, only every other week. There is no doubt its the best in our history. Some of the power and precision recently has genuinely been awesome to the extent I've only managed a "fuckin hell, will you look at that!"

hahaha exactly right. It's sit back and enjoy the ride time. So what if we lose to Newcastle on Sunday? What if the scum beat us in the Cap One cup final?

That's just where we are now isn't it. We are expected to win every game because we are the best team. As a fan I still find it hard to come to terms with. Match after match the pressure is there because we have to win or else. We win and it's expected but if we lose the wheels have come off and the press get their knives out.

But we know we can't win every single game.Nobody ever does. A draw against Blackburn might even help in the long run to remind the players and us we are not invincible.

A WBA fan said to me tonight "I bet you are glad you changed your manager now aren't you? The football you are playing is some of the best he has ever seen" He's 70 and he's right isn't he? But needing to be so close to perfect game after game isn't good for my ticker but long may it continue cos I am enjoying every minute of it.

Tbf to Fat Sam, he has been a bit more complimentary since his initial 'spending money' whinge & one thing he mentioned is how it's difficult for normal players to get near to players of that quality when they play at that level.

Of course they could charge around more & kick people more & on some days it may just work. On most days, at our place, you are going to be shagged out after fifteen minutes & we will take you to the cleaners by passing.

We weren't opening up West Ham everywhere, they were covering most of the angles & keeping us at arms length, a lot of passes but not too much penetration, then when they are watching for sliderule passes & clever angles, Yaya hits a perfect 40 yard ball down the centre & Negredo hammers it in. The next goal, The Beast & Ed do a decent impression of Ian Wright & Mark Bright, & burst them straight through again.

We hardly ever did this kind of stuff before the Count arrived. Now we can suddenly go all direct, or go wide & put crosses in & then string 47 short passes together.

If a team has a bit of luck & is well organised, & we are a bit off our game, then some can maybe keep us out but not many will succeed at our place. Away is different, for now, but we are getting there.

We can still improve lots of stuff, but what we are doing, in an attacking sense is on another level to what most teams have produced in this country, ever. It's about time we got full credit for that, irrespective of what we win or don't win.

I wouldn't swap this.
