So,to humour you - from your vast knowledge of football contracts in Italy and overseas, what makes you think that £80k is about right for this lad as opposed to any other figure?

Nb, I'd much prefer that you're right by the way

To be fair to j@sta, you do like to challenge and interrogate people on here pretty regularly these days and it does come across as slightly aggressive. I don't know what's brought it on; I used to have you down as one of the calmest and most reasonable posters.

Perhaps you need a good pint!

No, the rags are 'rebuffed', whilst others are 'snubbed'.
Oh, and thanks for the kind remark in the Pellegrini thread.

No, the way it works (and I've seen this as late as yesterday with Lewandowski)... "United cooled their interest before he snubbed City."

YCMIU.

Haha exactly. "United got out while they still could and avoided this transfer catastrophy".

They are never interested in players they dont sign. Fact. They are the footballing equivalent of the Canadian mounties.

Truth,

Barcelona youngster Thiago has been linked with a move to Old Trafford all summer but Bayern now appear in pole position after Pep Guardiola confirmed he had instructed the club's board to bid for the player.

When asked about if the player was a target, Moyes was deliberately vague saying: "I never said at any time that he was (a target)."

Very good, of course if you weren't here when Keegan was in charge, and you weren't here when Pearce was in charge, and you only joined the forum and probably the club after the money arrived, then I doubt you are an expert on what constitutes a 'shit time' nor should you be making judgments on those that were.

I joined the forum in 2008 (I could barely work a computer before that; in fact, when Royle was in charge, my family couldn't afford one), but first got my season ticket in 1993. Join dates of this forum mean nothing in and of themselves.

That said, if the guy's one of those who's constantly moaning about how bad things are at City these days - and I've got no idea whether he is or not - then he deserves to get some shit. We're living the dream as far as I'm concerned.

There no interrogation here mate.

It's the equivalent of one newspaper reporting balotellis cock is 15 inches long, an another reporting it as 6, so I decide that "8 is probably about right"

Because my statement has about as much foundation as john's did.

Everyone's quick enough to whinge about the press doing it, yet we have good posters (yes, no beef with John) who come out with the same shit that we criticise the press for doing.

As for my post about a month back about john68's pig ignorant condescending style to people he disagrees with on the site over a number of years, which I assume you're referring to, i stand by every word, the 'poster' is a cunt, I reserve judgment on the person behind all the snide digs at people, as many of you seem to like him so he must have some redeeming features

About 95% of the posters on this site have a condescending style to people they disagree with, sometimes myself included. Hell, most of DoomMerchant's posts are just condescending bullshit or sexual asides. It's usually the nature of debating over the internet.

I know mate, its tedious at times, the ones who are open and do it as their posting 'style' In every post, I just take with a pinch of salt and read past most of their posts as its more about points scoring and 'look at me' than about football.

The issue with John only ever comes up around the time we change managers, other than that he is a first class contributor to the forum.

He gets a bit attached to the managers, and then gets a bit personal with the insults towards those who disagree with him. Like I say, he's probably a decent guy in real life and like with anyone on here I'd happily buy a pint and chew the fat about football for an hour.

It's one of the good things about the size of this forum, that we do have some good knowledgeable people on the whole, like john@staustell generally is, that's what sets mcf.net apart.

Are you talking about John@ or John68 now? I'm confused...

I think both are good posters - as I do you by the way. John68 is great off the internet as well, though. He's probably one of the biggest gobshites I've ever met, but he does talk a lot of sense and he's a good guy through and through.

I didn't catch the thing with john68. I was thinking more about your toing and froing with Mase - first over Bury fans and then something in off topic. It's not that agreed or disagreed with either of you, I just thought it was getting a bit intense. You came across as a man looking for a tussle, as you did a bit in this thread. I got what j@sta was saying; there's no way that he'll be getting anything close to 80k at his current club, so to leap to 150k in his first contract at his next club would be ludicrous- especially in the FFP era.

I still think you make pretty good points, just in a more confrontational style than in the past.

I don't know what mase's problem is mate, seems to have dreamt up a beef from somewhere - in fact until you mentioned it then id even forgot about the bury thread, but seeing as you bring it up - it amounted to me disagreeing that bury fans were all 'Munich cunts' based on the fact that I am a bury fan having alternated watching them with city over 20 years, and with them having maybe 1500 hardcore fans, id say i know a good 20% personally from away trips yet don't know many (if any) 'Munich cunts' amongst them - eg, I called out his generalising as bullshit.

He hasn't bothered to inform me what his beef is.

I shouldn't have to defend myself over that, but its a mystery to me why he spent last week following me round the board trying to rile me
