I would have thought it's just down to brand management. Can't let the upstart become more fashionable than the parent co, even though in reality it has been for a good few years now when it comes to football kits.
It would have been cheaper for them to just tell Umbro to make us shite kits though surely?

I would have thought it's just down to brand management. Can't let the upstart become more fashionable than the parent co, even though in reality it has been for a good few years now when it comes to football kits.

Umbro has been a money loser for Nike since they bought the brand. I was excited when they brought Umbro on board. I was even happier when they announced the sale. My stock in the company went up when that happened. Umbro is now owned by Iconix Brand Group since December.
