If you were being paid £200k a week would you be arsed about being treated like a cunt? Honestly?!
That's such a fucking lazy answer, I dont know where to start.
How much money someone earns does not change the basic management science of people management
I've gone from earning £2 an hour, to earning money that I could only dream of a few years ago. But in every job i've ever done, regardless how much money I earned for that job, the quality of my output has always been down to three issues
1: Personal pride
2: The money
3: How much I wanted to work for my manager
The point that i'm trying to illustrate is that regardless how much you earn, that is only one part of the eqaution. The remaining parts of the equation are based on your own personal pride in your work, and how much you want to work for your boss. (Eg, their motivational ability)
In city's case this season, every player would be happy with number 2 - so you are guaranteed a third of an effort, and there will be a differing level of personal pride, so lets say the players efforts are 50% of their maximum without any influence. The remaining motivation to draw out that extra 50% comes from the inspiration and motivation of those around them, and in particular their manager.
If the manager doesnt inspire you, you will rarely get anything more than a half arsed performance out of most players,
So you need to take the idea of a millionaire footballer, and bring it back the the basic point that they are human beings, and have the identical emotional needs for motivation, encouragement and developmemt that you and I do.
