There's plenty of pubs in the town centre mate including a Yates' and a Weatherspoons. There's also one called the Full Moon on the High Street where the lads are quite friendly.

If not, it's about a 6 quid to the ground in a cab (plus John's tip of course) and there's a Harvesters (and other places to eat (F&Bs I think)) there where Blues will probably make their own.

Should be a good day for you mate, let's hope we bring home the points.

PS. Forgot to mention, there's a KFC just over the river mate. Just what you need to soak up the booze ;-)

I got the 7:30 train because it was about £60 cheaper. I decided to get the 7pm train back as its only 1 change to the 2 of the 17:55 and arrives in Piccadilly about 15 mins later.

Cheers for the info beefy - looking forward to it.

Aguero

I would play Milner instead of Barry in the middle next to Yaya.
Nasri and Silva have the wider role with freedom to come inside when attacking and then Tezez and Aguero to have a licence to pester defenders and the goalkeeper.

Milner has to play in the cup final for me. I'd be gutted for him if after the outstanding season he's had that Nasri starts ahead of him. Nasri has been shite ever since he joined us, and even though he's found some form recently, he doesn't deserve to play in the cup final. Milner is the better player, and considering he missed out on the last cup final and the QPR game last season, and the excellent season he's had this year, he should be back in the side on Saturday, and should remain in for the final.

If you are heading straight for the ground and don't want to fuck about in the town centre then as Beefy said the harvester is bang across the road from the ground and will be packed with City.

Afternoon gents. Thought I was gonna have a break this weekend but I was asked by Swansea fanzine SOS to answer a few questions: (I'll get muting helmet)

Rob McKay from http://www.mancityfans.net/mcfnet gives us the lowdown on the outgoing Premier League champions ahead of Saturday’s clash at the Liberty.

You’ve failed to hit the heights of last season’s title success this term, why do you think that is?

Simply put we’ve been average to awful for most of the season and we’ve never got going. I’d struggle to count the number of times we’ve played to our best this season. Some will blame injuries, others will blame Mancini and he himself puts it down to the lack of investment in the summer. Truth is probably somewhere between all of the above as we’ve missed Micah Richards more than most will admit, Nigel De Jong has no equal replacement and it was criminal he was allowed to leave (for just £3.5m), Adam Johnson wasn’t replaced adequately and the lack of a single reinforcement in January was effectively the surrender of the title. In addition United have been unstoppable all season.

Do you think Roberto Mancini’s position could be under threat as a result of this and are the fans still behind him?

Yes and Yes. The man is baffling as sometimes he makes terrifically astute judgments, his use of Pizarro last season was flawless, mind games in the last 8 games, but sometimes it’s ludicrous, leaving Milner out of the team for Garcia or Nasri, bringing on centre backs up front, criticising his own players in public and playing Kolarov…ever. I see the end coming in the form of a good-for-everyone move to Monaco in the summer.

The backing of the supporters whoever is almost universal, there will be no mistaking what the man has done for us. We’ve played in two league cup semis, two FA Cup finals, and have a 3rd, 2nd (hopefully) and 1st place finish under him. However the owners are right to feel has underachieved given his European record (someone should have checked this before his appointment) but the general feeling this season is that Brian Marwood seriously undermined him last summer.

Who have been your star performers and who has flattered to deceive?

James Milner would be hands down the player of the season if it wasn’t for Pablo Zabaleta. Milner has been phenomenal this season and it’s unreal to think that he’s been dropped for the likes of Nasri, Rodwell and Garcia at times. He can also play anywhere and often plays everywhere. Zabaleta is a man who has literally bled for the cause and has been the clubs leader in the all-too-often absence of Vincent Kompany this year.

Nasri, Kolarov and Garcia all get special mentions from supporters. However in terms of money earned to contribution to our club Maicon has set Bosingwa-esque standards between injuries, lack of effort and even arguing with his own supporters when taking a throw in.

Scott Sinclair is well known to Swansea fans, given his lack of action do you think he will depart in the summer?

It’s hard to say, if Mancini remains I would say it is likely however given that his wages were quadrupled from £10k to £40k a week the calibre of clubs who are likely to be interested in him would probably have to break their wage structure to bring him in. In short QPR’s relegation has probably torpedoed him.

What do you make of Swansea and who if any players are you fearful of?

Swansea are fantastic club with a terrific ethos and significantly more likeable with Michael Laudrup now Rodgers has shown his true colours at Liverpool. I am biased as my mother was from Neath and I’ve had Dyer, Michu and Routledge in my fantasy team since the opening day of the season. Most supporters would say they are fearful of Michu but for me it will the wing play of Wayne Routledge, Nathan Dyer, Jonathan De Guzman and/or Pablo Hernandez. Width and pace are our weakness and Clichy is worse than awful at blocking crosses and against quick wing play Zabaleta can sell himself pulling Kompany out of position leaving us exposed.

Give us a score prediction

First goal will be key and if it’s us we’ll more than likely go on to win. If it’s you I’m not sure the players will dig deep and find a big performance but they do have FA Cup final positions to play for. I think 2-0 City…I hope

I think you do us a complete disservice saying we've been average to awful mate. We are currently in 2nd position with 71 points and have played decent football at times. You then go on to say that United have been unstoppable (very true) which sort of gives away that we could've been closer if they weren't.

I'd say our season has been good and could be even better otherwise the rest of the league can only be described as shite, nothing more.

Also, have we really missed Micah all that much on a footballing level? He's a great player and a good guy to have around but we've been pretty solid defensively.

I agree with the thoughts on Milner, but I don't know when he's been dropped for Rodwell. Milner's been deployed exclusively on the flanks as far as I can remember.

Our five biggest names (Yaya, Silva, Kun, Kompany and Hart) have all had poorer seasons than their last two (one in Kun's case). This is all that's needed to explain the lower levels in performance as far as I can tell.

BB, I'm not having a go here but you also mention that the owners are right to be underwhelmed but I have not seen anything to sustantiate the claim. To a non-City supporter, you're basically putting that opinion over as fact and therefore painting a picture that is not exactly true; a bit like the Rag tops.

Like I say mate, not having a pop but a few of your statements seem to be pampering to the oppo fans and paint us in a light that I don't think appropriate. I don't know though, that may be your thinking.

We've been incredibly average this season? I'd stuggle to remember the number of times we've played really well from start to finish.

Average to awful? Average is being mid-table, awful is doing a QPR (what does it make Swansea since their excellent cup win?). If you believe we should be playing Barca'esque/Bayern type football every single game then I'm not sure what your expectations are. Yes, we've not played to the standards that saw us win the league but I would never class this season as average to awful.

Like ADVT says, there's no mention that none of our strikers have hit the heights, even with all the chances going their way, and that a few of our players haven't shown what they are worth. It just seems to be a bit of an angry ramble, possibly a little emabrrassed at our season to be fair.

TBF if I was going to write an analysis of our season and where we went wrong I'd have written 30,000 words. I agree about the strikers and we've hardly had a settled front line all season. Biggest difference is we've gone from having to fit 13 or 14 players into 11 to having one injury away from being forced to play Garcia or Nasri all season.

I'm not slating Zabba, simply been magnificent every minute he's been at the club, but if you were to watch Richards last season what he does going forward has been our biggest loss this season. Starting on the half way line or just inside at home. Forcing both winger and full back deep. Getting the ball played at pace yards I. Front of him and charging into the penalty area like a bull in the china shop of leaving gaps to slot into Milner, Silva or Johnson. By design or by accident our width attacking comes from our fullbacks.

i think those nine words rather sum it all up, 30,000 words indeed!

City have played some great football this year and at times. after pummeling a team come away with draws.

The levels City are now playing at are very enjoyable to watch, even if we don't always get the result the effort implies.

We have played much better football than the rags, scored generally clean , better constructed goals and are exciting to watch. Even if we are all baffled as to how the Rags pulled the heist off.
