Well I think that people on the cup scheme with fuck all points getting priority over season ticket holders with alot of points is a bit of a joke, as to me there new fans.

I have around 4k points so won't get one like I didn't for the last cup final?

Oh well... Looks like I'm watching it in York, not even Mary D's :(

I was considering registering for Wigan membership...

The fact of the matter is that the cup scheme wss made perfectly clear at the start of the season. If you've joined it then you've been to all the rounds and deserve your chance to go to the final. If you have a load of points put didn't join the scheme then tough shit. You knew the craic at the start of the season so don't whinge now if you can't get a ticket

Spot on, it was a bit snidey the first time round, but everyone knows the score now.

I have some sympathy for people who cant afford to be in the cup scheme, the technology is there for a compromise based on tracked attendances to allow those who are not on the cup scheme but have attended cup matches to be next in line.

But the reality is that city is a business, and their business is filling stadiums - and one way of doing that is to incentivise those who commit to buying the additional tickets throughout the season. In return, to get people to sign up, there has to be not just the incentive of a couple of quid off tickets, but the fear of missing out on something.

In summary, its tough shit.

Last time they only did it for the semi, obviously knowing all season ticket holders could get a ticket. They dropped it for the final but the warning was there.

I'd enjoyed not being on the scheme as it meant I could move around the ground but rejoined after that. I'm not convinced it's right that someone who's had a season ticket for 10 plus years could be behind someone who only got a season ticket last year, but the rules are clear.

The good news is there will be plenty more finals to come, so if you can't get a ticket this year, there will be other chances

So basically it's going to force people who really can't afford to be on the cup scheme to actually go on it just in case.

Yet we all took the piss out if the rags for years for being on a scheme where their season ticket holders had to pay for cup matches even if they couldn't afford them. I know City aren't at that stage yet, but in my opinion it's only a matter of time.

United did it to underwrite the glazer takeover, guaranteed against future ticket sales. That scheme gave you no choice but to join, or your season ticket was cancelled - its very different and we won't be going down that route

City are not forcing anyone to do anything. If its all about whether you want a ticket to the final if we get there, then join it. If you don't, you take your chance.

If someone can't afford to go to the games in the earlier rounds, how come they can suddenly fork out a couple of ton for a final?

I really don't see the problem.

Had a season ticket since Frank Clark...(shudder).
Didn't subscribe to the cup scheme Direct so that I could take my 7 year old to his first games. Went to all the home Cup games with him sitting next to me. He's now an ardant City fan.
But by introducing the next generation to The Blues I've missed out on a final ticket! Maybe City need to think this through next time!

I know it's different. Hence why I wrote "we're not at that stage yet".

I can only speak for myself, but at the start of the season I used my bonus to pay for my season ticket. I can afford a final ticket now because I'll use my quarterly bonus for it.

I hope that answers your questions.

You're the one embarrassing yourself by crying over the fact that you are admittedly a part time fan who doesn't meet the criteria of all the true supporters. If you think it's so unfair then why don't you go home and tell your mum so she can go in and see Khaldoon for you.

I work away in Northampton and cannot attend midweek games and my work has been a very high profile project that has kept me at bay for a while. Its going live soon and everyone (uk) will see the adverts soon on tv. First one being 11th may!! So my life is being given back to me and now I am off to work in London for 12 months :-( lucky me. My lad has a season card but there is no way I can have one with the job I have. It's a bitch, but that's life.

I feel for the people who are on high loyalty points and not in the cup scheme and they have to wait behind people on much lower points but are in the scheme. I have nearly 12,000 points and if i wasn't in the cup scheme and i missed out to somebody in it who maybe only has about 3,000 odd points i would be gutted.

My lad brought his little boy to every round of the cup. He was also in the cup scheme. Whats the problem? We all knew the score from a couple of years ago. You gad to have a seasoncard to join the cup scheme, the tickets for the cup games were discounted for cup scheme members.
So all season long you have a ticket every week, and then you're offered a cheaper do for the cup and a near guarantee for a final and some folk are bleating? Unbelievable.
