Hamsik, Modric, Sneijder or Xavi?

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Sneijder (or however you spell it). Just cause I think he would suit city a bit better than the others. In my honest opinion, Silva is streets ahead of Modric as it is. Sneijder offers goals and creation. Xavi ain't going nowhere, but obviously he is the best player of the four. Hamsik has never fulfilled his promise.

Is he saying what you're thinking, or are you seeing what he's saying and pretty much repeating it down to the last 'Jesus wept'?

I think Dazby was taking the piss with his 'Xavi two seasons of class' remark. Even if he wasn't, having a dodgy opinion on something still isn't as sad as repeating someone else's indignation.

That's what gets on my tits about this place sometimes - people just repeating other people's opinions. At least Dazby's sometimes shit opinions are his own.

You're welcome, Dazby.

By the way, your 'Newcastle, Blackburn and Villa to go down' prediction was laughably shit.

I must be daft, because I thought dazby was referring to the players' ages? (Xavi is old. If we signed him, we'd only get "2 seasons of class" out of him, etc.)

He was saying you will get 7 seasons out of Sneidjer and only 2 from Xavi... i thought it was quite obvious!

i thought he same pal, whars xavi now 31 so possibly he might only play till 33 or 34, so yes he could only have 2 possibly 3 years left, so dazby i agree with you i would go for sniejder, quality player who can create & score, plus plenty of years left in him

Get Xavi, get two years of class out of him (more in my opinion) and then get the next Xavi. If he's available and up for it, we have to cling in a bid. For the type of player he is, he's in the top one in the world.

And since when were ball-playing midfielders over the hill at 30?

The problem is that we'd never recover his transfer fee. FFP, if you believe in that sort of thing, dictates that we consider resale value. Not much resale value in a 33/34 year old MF.

Also, regarding your second point, I think Barca fans and Xavi himself expect he'll retire in a few years.

Strange post. Really strange. I will agree that 31 year old Xavi is the better player but I'd prefer 26 year old Sneijder. In two years time Xavi will be 33. In 7 years time Sneijder will be 33. I'd rather 7 years from Sneijder than 2 from Xavi.

The fact that other posters, including yourself, agreed with me so your "unusual" argument doesn't hold water AT ALL.

Hopefully that's enough substance for you Ger. But you probably wouldn't read it anyway. Like this thread that I created and you read. Oops.

No, you didn't get it mate. We would be buying two seasons from Xavi vs 7 from Sneijder. Assuming of course they stay.

Please show me where I said Tevez was no good. I was disappointed he got to hold up the FA Cup as captain, as I'd rather Kompany whom is our true leader.

Oh, and it's "you're." Thanks.

Dammerto, Find the word YOUR in what dazby quoted, you will find it used correctly. If the dumb cunt can't quote correctly to point out the mistake, then he can hardly call someone up on it and then have another dumb cunt(ie. you) defend him over it, can he?

You can't correct his inept shit and then insist that it was there all the time.

Cant see Xavi going anywhere to be honest. Unfortunately Modric looks like he could be heading to OT, but i think hes very similar to Silva and think i'd rather have Silva anyway. My choice out of the four would be Sneijder but i would prefer us to sign Fabregas, who's already proven he can do it in the prem. He's a world class player and just the addition of him alone would really help us with challenging for the title next season, despite the fact he's a whining diving little git

I don't see any scenario where Fabregas would join us.

P.s. what a Dazby hatefest this topic is. Where is all this hate3 coming from. Thumbs down from me you haterzzzzzzz.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

how you holding up dazza?

Anyway - now that he has explained his comment - I kind of agree with him - we'll get more mileage out of sjneider and if the two were to cost the same money - sjneider would be the one to go for
