Agreed, however that marking of Shevchenko last night was pathetic, and a wily old fox took his pants down.
He has no natural defenive instincts Spurs have Bale. and Lennon God help us.

Shevchenko has made a career out of doing that mate.

He's just not very good at anything. He hits the ball quite hard though. He's basically Wayne Bridge with a harder shot.

But having said that, Zabaleta isn't much better. Neither is Richards and neither is Boateng. Four full backs who aren't good enough to play week in, week out in a tem who have aspirations to win things. Richards is probably the best out of the 3, and Zabaleta is useful because he is versatile.

But all in all, we're shocking in both full back positions.

It's fair enough that other defenders could also be caught out in the same way by Shevchenko but my main worry about Kolarov is that even if Shevchenko told him where he was going to run, he'd be too slow off the mark to do anything about it. If we can get some more pace out of him I could imagine him being ok but he just looks 2 yards off the pace to me.

He looked a lot quicker to me before we signed him though. I wonder if that ankle injury has cocked him up. Micha's pace & aerial power dropped for a year when he got injured & Lescott was like an oil tanker in August.

I know, THAT YOU KNOW THAT, so how at 36 does he surprise Kolarov, he allows him the run on him, as coached 1 RUN for the defender which K bought and one for S, like taking candy from a kid, a proper defender would have stuck to the only man in the box like glue, by the time his left peg went back it was in the net, I am not digging him out he looks quality on the ball, But so did Arsenal until Tuesday night I think they are still looking for the ball.

I was hoping Bingo was being sarcastic.

When Kolarov was defending David Bentley I have seen no-one for years who have made Bentley look that good for an entire 90 minutes.

If Kolarov could deliver those set pieces like i think he's capable then he merits a place on the pitch no matter what. But lacking that he is not worth a spot even on the bench in my opinion.

Right now he's a passenger. On a fucled up bus that's running out of gas. Allegedly.

He cannot defend so should never be anywhere near the back.....which brings me to why we ever signed him ?

With how bad he has been, I can only think that somewhere in Mancinis mind is a 3-5-2 option waiting to be unleashed with wing backs, but that maybe he doesnt think we have strong enough centre halves to do it right now. That makes you wonder why we weren't in for David Luiz if this was the case, and where Adam Johnson would fit into things.

I wish Mancini had read this thread before today's match. At fault for both goals today.

I can take a better corner than him. I'm fed up to the back teeth of City at the moment and I'm loosing faith quickly. Never been happier with a int break.

I'm not sure this is entirely true but, as hard as it is to take, a second goal on the counter when we leave 4 forward is not the main charge to lay against him anyway.

Disappointing overall!
Lacks the attributes of every fullback in the usual sky4.
Not good enough in this team and nowhere near good enough for what we aspire to be.

As like in mancini, smurking on the touchline when we went down 1-0, wtf was that about.
He and Hughes have bought some right stinkers.
Very questionable the signings.
But were still on target, 4th in the league, well find out at the end of the season i suppose.
Dzeko looks shite though, terrible.

The smirk I remember from Mancini was for when Kolarov almost scored an own goal, and the ref gave us a goal kick
