You have to score

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Another pep talk from John. I appreciate you trying to give me the benefit of your undoubted wisdom. And I really try to feel positive, afterall we are four points clear of fifth. But then we play a game and I see the same failings.
City and sniffing knickers.
Come on Blues.

It wasn't meant to be a pep talk mate. Just an opinion that I can see us movin onwards and upwards from here in a more positive manner when he considers he has the right strike to partner tevez in place.

That could be as soon as the Jan window...who knows.

You are basing your opinion on your gut feelings based on what you have seen but you are failing to take other matters into consideration.
Mancini dare not fail. He has been instructed to qualify for the CL and failure is not an option. To fail means the bullet and could have major financial implications with the UeFA finance rules. The stakes are too high to contemplate failure.
He obviously feels that by defending deep, the talent he has up front will score and we will win more games than we lose and sufficient games will be won to take is into the CL.
This is a temporary situation. We know he has plans or wishes to buy a top striker. Do you really think he would buy a Torres, then not use him.
Sit tight, tolerate this temporary phase and allow him the chance to take us into a next phase, with a better strikeforce and then make your critique. You may well end up right but it is still too early to make that fair assessment.

Oh...and wasn't that Petrov goal the other day a blinder...eh!!!

I couldnt agree more with this, it is a temporary thing, and is similar to the way Chelsea began building, they have come out of the other side of it a solid team who play successful football.

And its nice to see Petrov still scoring in the premiership, unfortunately Vassell has ended up not scoring in league one, I guess the proof of the pudding showed that Piccs isnt as all knowledgeable as he would like to think.

I like the slagging Piccs off idea...should we contain it to here, or should we start a new thread for him???
He makes a smashing victim....:-)

Ha ha, I actually have a lot of respect for a lot that he says, I just think he needs to cheer up and realise how far the club has actually come despite playing ugly negative football.

He has the positive outlook of a Bridgend teenager.
