Great bit of business. We get a very very good player and they get a potentially good player. I think people really underestimate how good and versatile Milner can be. I'm well chuffed with this deal.

good peice of business - I think Ireland is a highly talented player and I have no doubt that he will flourish at Villa, but his time here, like Dunnie, has come to an end
Milner is a grafter and a player of some quality - which is what we need now

Only time will tell. All I care about now is that Milner will slot into our team and deliver.I do think he strengthens the team/squad and has proven quality over more then one season.Ireland has real quality we know but was struggling to show it with City so it might be just what he needed as well.

Milner - Good Signing

Ireland - Good Riddance (i'd rather have him off the books than rotting in the reserves, he was never going to regain the form)

I've no qualms with getting Milner if that's what the manager/Marwood wants. I just think we will regret selling Ireland to a team in the same league as us.

Thanks for the memories Ireland. Always sad to lose someone who loves the club like the fans do but I think you'll be better off at Villa.

And the way City conduct business with employees and playing staff when they are no longer wanted is absolutely appalling. Classless and unnecessary.

Milner : Talented and versatile player who has a baseline performance level which is good.

Ireland : One dimensional player who has been having more than a little trouble performing even in that dimension.

Good deal for City - and just maybe the kick start Ireland needs as well.

Spot on, Stevie did good work here for one season and has done sweet f.a after that, he will no doubt leave us with a massive pay off and to join a champions league chasing team on 50K+ a week. I struggle to see why i should feel sorry for him.

yes he is on alot of money like most footballers. but he was one of the very few left that absolutely loves the club, the rest probably dont give a fuck about it. that matters alot to me personally.

i think its a very sad day to see him go.

i must say im getting pissed off with the club at the moment.
