Its concerning to be honest. Young lads who are being courted by City are going to look at guys like Dunne, Bellamy, Ireland and possibly Given/Hart depending on how that pans out and see them as being legends for a time at the club, doing nothing especially wrong and being pawned off in really bad circumstances for them all with a lot of bitterness involved and they'll be thinking twice about joining here. Some players deserve better, really.

Not just young lads but established players will become wary. We should try to keep as good a relationship as possible with the players even when we move them on. We've bent over backwards to help Robinho so why be shitty with others? I don't think Mancini will hold Given anyway, I think he understands that the keeper situation is different.

If Given leaves do we need to sign a new backup keeper? Who would you sign who would be happy on the bench?

Or would you be happy with Stuart Taylor?

Is Maik Taylor still first choice with Brum?

We could do worse than him

Maik Taylor looked cumbersome last time imo but our Taylor worries me. I can imagine him having a game just as good as Hart did v Spurs but I can also imagine him letting 4 in, all by different types of mistake.

Maik Taylor is also almost 40.

I personally think Fulop did a decent job for us last season and might be quite happy as an understudy.

Joleon Lescott, for example? Last year David Moyes was calling City because of our pursuit of Lescott. But he started this season on the subs bench. However I don't believe Dunne had to leave. He was told that he was still wanted but refused to stay and demanded a move.
If you can keep your head when all around you are losing theirs, it's just possible that you haven't really grasped the gravity of the situation.

I can see another dejavu here this season if we offload Given.

Id like to fuck the whining cunt off but first and foremost we have to learn from last season and make sure we have a backup keeper that is a step up from another fulop.Taylor is not that man imo.

Spot on Carl we cannot allow ourselves to be so short of a decent back up keeper again.Plus with all the games we could have this season i am sure both will get plenty of playing time.Bobby should just say that one is number 1 and the other will back him up end of story so stop fuckin crying.

Stoke. I heard Chelsea were sniffing but surely the guy is looking for 1st team football. If he can't get past Coco at Stoke I don't hold much hope for him at Chelsea or City.

They should both be called to his office and he needs to tell them that he is the boss, he makes the fucking decisions, he should fine them both for their "I'm gonna leave if I'm not first choice" whinges in the media, and they should both be told they have a contract and no matter how much they whinge, one of them will not be playing certain games.
It seems to me that neither of them have the right attitude. They get that spot based on performance and ability, and the one in the net on matchday is the one who is performing better, and the other one needs to up their game to get the start back, not have a moan and look for another club.

Couldnt agree more Bing, i wish our players would keep their traps shut and concentrate on winning football matches. Sick of reading quotes from them in the press.

Well said, the point is this, AJ sat on the bench this week, SWP will soon enough, as will anyone else we bring in will impact others. Hell Bridge didn't even make the trip to London, has he said a word? Shut the hell up, collect your wage, play for your roll and when you get a chance seize it. Given plays Thursday, turn in a stunner and if Joe stumbles you will get your shot.

It serves us no point to loan him to another prem team. He can play in the cup and when needed or he can go to a back pitch and warm up with Bellamy for when his contract is up. Shay has ZERO leverage.

I find it funny that you think its only our players who do this while at the same time saying Bellamy's done it his whole career. Every player whose not playing at big clubs gets this shit all the time and gives simular answers. Get fucking over it, its not unique to city. Look at Mascherano at Liverpool, and Riera. Look at Arsenal and Gallas constantly mouthing off last season or Fabregas basically coming out and saying he wants to play for Barca. You had the same at Chelsea with Deco, Shevchenko, Cudicini etc....., it never happens with United either I mean Tevez never opened his mouth before he joined us. Ronaldo didn't spend 2 years trying to sell himself to Madrid either.

Big players like Fabregas, Tevez, Torres will constantly be asked about big clubs and if they want to move on they'll give their opinions. Fringe players who don't play are also constantly asked these type of questions and answer them the same as ours. Maybe ours feature a tad more lately but thats cause we're the club the entire world is interested in and we're the newpapers flavour of the month. Its getting unbelieveable how some people on here and turning into whinger's because a player gives a frank interview. Get over it. We're no different to any other big club now. That means players are going to be constantly in the spotlight and hounded by journalists and they will always give their opinions. Accept it. Big clubs come with big players and more often than not big players come with big mouths and big ego's.
