Apart from Boateng I know City are scouting a Bundesliga goalkeeper.

I rate Lahm, not sure how you cannot NQDP but I guess to each his own.

Looking very very good again at the moment against OL as well.

Your logic comes on you rating De Jong as our second best player all season which, imo, couldn't be further from the truth.

He was actually pretty good last night, I give you that. But poor defender.

You have no previous on players at least to my recollection but genral rule would be that if OD rates a striker, say like Benjani or Santa Cruz, we are better off staying well clear!

Rene Adler – Marcel Jansen, Mats Hummels, Jerome Boateng, Philipp Lahm – Nuri Sahin, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Mesut Özil, Marko Marin – Edin Dzeko, Stefan Kießling, Arjen Robben

how many of those are good enough to start with our current squad?

Five at least: Lahm, Boateng, Schweinsteiger, Ozil, Robben. Maybe Dzeko too, and that would be six.

Dzeko, Robben and Lahm at a push, although as said I prefer fullback who can actually defend.

Lahm Defending

Lahm Attacking

All from the last two games of Euro 2008. Take the (admittedly brilliant) goal away from him and he shouldn't have been anywhere near the Select XI (at least not as a defender anyway).

Didn't see the game overnight but I think he'd be a big mistake for us. Defenders who can really defend are what we need, not attacking wing backs.

^ Exactly my point. Nice player going forward but poor defender who regualrily gets skinned. And like I said earlier, it was only that goal against Turkey that put him there, not his defensive abilities.

Then again, loads of people rate these attacking fullbacks. Robertoi Carlos was widely considered as best left back ever, whereas I always thought he was a homer who had cracking left foot. Would've been great left winger though.

Depends what Mancini's favoured system is next season if he's still here. If he opts to go for the boring 3 in midfield, he may want to balance that by having fullbacks who are brilliant at going forward. Lahm can certainly cross a ball even if he can't defend for shit.

Ozil and Schweinsteiger would both fill the creative midfielder hole we currently have, with Ireland playing below his possibilities this season, so I reckon either one of them would start for us. Boateng, well that was me being hopeful I admit, as it seems we got him already ;)

Pure talent this one, Bayern will never sell him.

'Basti' is no better than Ireland. People always tend to think that grass is greener on the other side of the fence but once Ireland gets back to full fitness and finds his form again, he is better player.

Ozil is actually better player of the two but again, I don't think he would be much of an improvement. I'd take him to provide competition though if we can't find better player.

Boateng has the potential to be better then both of them but so far he isn't on the same level with Kompany and Lescott.

What's Muller like (the one at Bayern)? Seen him destroy teams in the Bundesliga this season but not heard anything of him in the Chumps League.

Also, who's the better keeper, Adler or Neuer?
