too slow
He can stand in front of them & help take pressure off though.
Absolutely...like I said...Think it's a winner for me...if he's shite he's only here on loan and can warm the bench for the rest of the season...if he is still handy...great!
So long as if he IS shite, the manager doesn't keep playing him. That would ruin his relationship with the fans.
If Mancini has done anything right he's been a fan licker first and foremost...from congratulating us and thanking us after every win, to wearing that dapper scarf...he's romancing the fuck out of us so i wouldn't worry too much about him playing someone who can't get the job done. that's not his MO or history as a manager as far as i can tell from what i've read.
cheers

he wouldnt be my choice but after what i've seen, even though its only been three games, i have quite abit of faith in mancini and think i'll save my judgement till after the window closes and i've seen what he's done
suppose Vieira would be good keeping a lead though we'de all be alot less nervous when we concede corners or free kicks

with vinny now our number 1 centre half and gareth barry apparently carrying a slight groin injury, we could do with abit of competition in the centre of the park.
even though Vieira is 33, his game hasn't ever particularly been dependant on pace and stamina, so i don't think his age will be a problem, infact i think a man of his experience and ability could be of massive benefit to us.
i say sign him up!

I think it's De Jong, the nickname coming from rottweiler, but I could be mistaken.

I remember talking to a Gooner about Vieira and they reckoned that, as with quite a few African born players, their actual date of birth is a bit of a mystery. This Gooner reckoned that Vieira is actually now in his late to mid thirties and Wenger knew this and got rid. This would explain his tremendous loss of speed and ability after he left Arsenal.

Whenever I see Inter, Vieira doesn't play but apart from the dangerous tackles which hopefully can be curtailed, does Vieira look like he's fit enough to do a job hanging around within 15 yards of the 'D' area protecting the defence, organising the team when we lose the ball & setting attacks in motion?

I've heard he has a massive schlong that he hits people with, which might cause some envy in the dressing room.
Puts me of him a bit

THIS DOESNT MAKE SENSE TO ME.
Vieira WANTS REGULAR FOOTBALL TO GET BACK IN THE FRANCE SIDE....I DONT KNOW WHO THE FUCK HE THINKS HE,S SUPPOSED TO BE JOINING AS THERE IS NO WAY HE WILL GET REGULAR FOOTBALL WITH US.
I DONT WANT HIM AND ACTUALLY DONT RATE HIM...I USED TO BUT NOT NOW.
BAD MOVE IMO.

I dont see a problem with this as long as its just on loan, it gives us a bit of cover untill are injured players are back.

Well it's hard to say as he rarely plays for Inter these days, but from what I can remember of him lately, he seems fit enough for it (although he's often injured)
in Serie A. If the deal is a loan one, then I'd be okay with it, as I'm not sure he's good enough for the Prem anymore tbh.

As you say it's a loan deal so we'll just have to see. Cheers.

I can see the value of him for his experience and understanding of what Mancini would be looking for but it doesnt feel right to me. I haven't seen him much ( he hasn't played that much has he?) but my last memories had him as too slow and I hope he doesnt get in instead of the key midfielders we have. Spose it fits Mancini playing a more defensive game too which has worked so far.

If we had Paddy V then it'd free up Kompo to slot in at CB full time.
Zabba----Micah-----Vinny----Sly/Gaz
-------Paddy V--------De Jong
-----------Barry(/Petrov????)
SWP----------Tevez---------Bellers
while we have these absentees / injuries.
He may not be Mr Right, but he defo could be a very useful Mr Right Now.

I'd be happy with Vieira. I'd even be willing to sack the loan deal off and sign him for 2 1/2 years. I think he would be a valuable asset especially how more than likely we'll be in Europe next season.

Not true he has a few, but Given doesn't have any so we'll get rid of him instead.

He makes Benjani look rapid.
In all seriousness I wouldn't be a massive fan of this idea, however I imagine Mancini is probably a better judge than I am!
