Top post, and I particularly agree with the bit in bold. For those of us who are branded 'happy clappers' are often just trying to encourage improvement as you say, rather than verbally attacking everything around us and putting a negative spin on things.

Picking through these threads, I've struggled to sum up how I feel and that post has pretty much nailed it head on.

In total agreement. The amount of times I hear fans slagging off our players instead of singing and geting behind the lads when are strugglng never ceases to amaze me. Iv been to all but one of the home games the season and the atmosphere at our ground is pretty poor, with the Arse game being the exception. I'm sure if the ground was bouncing the players would respond to that Ala the Hamburg game. Bit of a footall cliche but we need to be a 12th man more.

We have to trust that he can get his act together or at least somehow bungle his way into 4th! Changing now would still be suicidal.

To be honest it would be premature to change him right now.

When making the post though I had already written off all the games between now and Christmas except for maybe a solitary win at home to Hull (or a draw) and maybe a draw at Bolton I have us down for loosing the lot, including a home cup defeat to Arsenals kids.

Before you start slagging me off, it doesn’t mean I don’t want us to win, I am just being realistic.

So in reality I was probably meaning January the 1st rather than right now FOR SACKING THE CLOWN.

If anything the next few games will be interesting, Benitez should give Hughes a 3 goal start to level out our handicap

Actually I know for a fact he did.

Hughes came a lot closer to the sack than a lot of fans seem to realise, it was common knowledge that we had made approaches to a couple of World Class managers last season, who both rebuffed City’s advances, I am led believe these approaches were made by third party intermediaries at different times

Cooke was the one who recruited Hughes under the Thaksin era, he was the man responsible for signing him, so it was he that put the case across to our owner in Dubai that Hughes has great potential, (self interests) one of the best young British Managers in the game, and also at the time City were getting a lot of bad press in the papers, Cooke said the decision to retain the services of the clueless one would lead to a more positive press in the newspapers, so reluctantly they agreed to retain his services

I firmly believe if Hughes gets the Bullet so will Cooke.

Peter Kenyon is now available and he is also a City fan, who would bet against him becoming our CO in the near future, like him or loath him he is one of the best in the game and the Sheik should make him our very first signing he did great things for Chelsea

Maybe mate.

But if a job became available at the team you support you could make it happen.

That’s assuming one wanted it to start with of course

I am very pessimistic about our chances of a top 4 finish this season with Hughes but even more pessimistic that we would get such a finish with a change of manager. There are too many Hughes-type players in the squad for that to be a help. If we get to the point where we are well and truly out of the running for 4th then I will be advocating the start of the search for a successor. Until such time, I will continue to support maintaining the status quo.

Sorry to piss on your chips mate but MH was never ever near the sack ..... and isn't now either. Neither is Cookie by the way. Unless we have a disaster (bottom 6 relegation scrap) he is here for at least a couple of years.

Our owners are not as daft as you and realise that this is a long term project ..... with or without MH. They are conscious that we have to be viewed as a well run set up with realistic aims and objectives and the character to back the management to see it through.

If they were to sack the manager, it would give the wrong signals and the press would jump on the 'mad crazy arabs with cash' syndrome and there would not be a decent manager who would give us the time of day to replace MH.

However, if they give him time and money and he doesn't succeed ...... no one will blame them for sacking him and there will be top quality replacements prepared to take the job on, knowing they too will not just be given money ..... but time too.

So, you will have to be a lot more patient before your wish comes true and even a bad run of results ain't going to change anything. MH has much more time because at the moment, our need to appear credible is more important to our owners than the odd run of bad results.

IMO, they are bang on with their policy. Give MH time ...... and if he doesn't succed we will then be able to recruit anyone we want. Sack him now ..... and no one will touch us with a barge pole.
Relax ... It's only a message board in hyperspace!!

If performances and results don’t improve drastically between now and Christmas he will be gone believe me, it will amount to nothing more than constructive dismissal after he gave assurances to our owner of where we will be at, that means we should be in touching distance of the top 4 not 9th or 10th.

And if you think the press will save him that’s bollocks mate, The Press are already sharpening the knifes.

He is on borrowed time

I honestly believe the Shiek would have sacked Hughes last season if it had not been for Cooke doing a PR exercise on the Shiek, I can see Cooke now running to the Shiek with pro-Hughes emails telling him how good he will look to the worlds media knowing his neck was also on the line if Hughes was given the bullet.

So you believe our owner is so stupid he listens to only one person for advice?

He is on borrowed time get over it.

Sorry mate but you are wrong ..... honestly .... just believe me on this one.

What I have stated, is not my policy ....... !!!!
Relax ... It's only a message board in hyperspace!!
