Very astute - and the difference between him and Boj who was loved off the scale for no real evidence based reason??????

Hughes did not sign Boj!!

Some are on the RSC case because we have bought a player not fit enough to play yet and are just genuinely concerned - others jump in because it is a chance to bash Hughes - so that should not be missed

People speak as if they know facts - which cannot be true.

This is not new in the modern game where you need to build a squad - Villa and Liverpool have similarly paid major sums for players of the type they need even though suffering long term injuries - and therefore the subject of a level of risk. That is part of the job of O'Neill, Bennitez and Hughes etc

For me there can be only 3 possible scenarios here:

1/ RSC is either Hughes's lover or he has some dirt on Hughes which he has threatened to use etc

2/ Allardyce (or the Blackburn chairman) has done a deal with Hughes to split the fee into 2 big brown envelopes

3/ Hughes has been clear for a good long time that we need a) A quality target man that can lead the line and that b) We should aim for 2 of quality in every position.... That he has known of RSC for a good length of time so and thinks he would be ideal as one of those 2 if fit - so, fitness allowing - RSC was always going to be one of those 2, which became a no-brainer when Ade became available. A Brucie bonus was the impact of Ade and the only big concern was the loss of Ade to the Africa Nations Cup - this provided a good long time to get the RSC injury fully sorted - without risk of worsening by rushing back - then play him in an increasing way to get him bang on for January. So back in June - this must have all seemed a breeze.

Now if I was a betting man (which I am), I would consider number 3 out of those options to be the most likely.

RSC was given a professional medical - with a known injury and received a prognosis that meant the decision was made to buy. There are people at the club - Cook and Khaldoon just as examples that will have needed to be satisfied - these are not simple YES men.

Now hindsight is fucking wonderful (as a betting man I wish I had the gift so many on here seem to benefit from) - and lo and behold, the recovery is not as on track!! I do not think anyone here can comment beyond that - and whilst people can blame Hughes for identifying the player as one of the target men he wanted - you cannot blame him medical prognosis FFS - unless of course your agenda is to just blame Hughes for anything and everything because you do not want him at the club.

So going forward, the rational options for CITY fans would seem to be for me:

a) Convince yourself that one of the two perverse options I described above are true - and moan on and on about RSC / Hughes / Tom / Dick / Harry;

b) Dream up some other conspiracy theory - probably even more exotic - try the one about Hughes (probably because one of the two perverse options I described was true) - worrying about the medical not going through and sacking all the previous medical team to bring in his own team to push it through at risk to their professional reputations and a criminal record etc etc - mind you on that one best to add in a guess of how much he would have paid to each (there would have been quite a few accomplices) hush hush money - as nothing as leaked yet it must have been a large brown bag.

c) Stop living in a fantasy world / listening to the bollocks dreamt up by either drama queens or those that just hate Hughes - pay for a one-way ticket back to the real world and recognise that a decision based on medical reports was made back in May / June by a management team within a professional governance structure - that the recovery and recuperation is taking longer than projected - and get behind the team you claim to support - its players and manager.

For me - Hughes's decisions in the transfer market seemed to have been excellent so far - Given, de jong, Bellamy etc -

I will judge RSC based on his performances when fit - if there has been indeed some medical setback that means this does not come to pass, then, heh that is what our club's insurance policy should be designed to cover - and whilst it will disappoint me - it will not be a fraction of how I felt compared to Paul Lake and Colin Bell

Guys - get a life and some perspective!!

RSC is unfit and why is he playing? It's simple to save Hughes bacon he bought a player with a half a season injury for a stupid price and he is playing them to try and show the owner he hadn't made a mistake its obvious. The problem is its costing the team just so he can prove he was right to buy a crock. He fucked up big time with RSC he just needs to come out and admit it instead of playing an unfit player to prove a point.

If we bought him and you all found out he's not gonna play until January you would all be pretty pissed off no? I think the owners certainly would considering how much he paid for him.... Maybe it's for face? Maybe its pressure off the owner anybody thought of that? No doubt he wants to see his investment play on the pitch and Hughes has fucked up and has no choice but to play an unfit player.

My second point is this which is it he's a terrible player or unfit? He's either 1 or the other but if he is unfit then Hughes IS to blame for playing him no matter how you fucking sugarcoat it. If he's not then a lot of people on here need to stop sticking up for him. I honestly didnt think he looked that unfit at weekend maybe lacking match practice but not enough to make those kind of mistakes.

Absolute total twaddle and you know it.

First of all, you start your ridiculous post off with "RSC is unfit and why is he playing? To save hughes bacon". Right so, the manager is playing an unfit player to save his job(that isn't under threat). And how exactly would an unfit player help hughes stay in his job?

Secondly, although RSC is still not fully match fit (how do you get fully match fit BTW?), he has started two games and scord one goal. I bet you aimed the same amount of shit at Bellamy when he signed did you?

Then you ask for us city fans to stop sticking uo for a player who is trying to come back from a long term injury?

For that alone you should be fucking ashamed of yourself. City fan indeed.

So you think Hughes played RSC on Sunday because he needs his bacon saving? You think the owner has decided that hughes needs blood one of his big signings to prove himself because........................?

OF course, I can imagine Hughes having sleepless nights worrying about when he can play RSC as the sheik has demanded to see him play.
