Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Absolutely.
Firstly, that's bollocks.
Secondly, is there a bigger project than ours anyway?
In what way is that bollocks? Blue for me is someone who supports Manchester City through thick and thin. Hughes isn't a Blue and never will be. I think he is a Rag but many have been convincing me that he is actually Chelsea. Blue he fucking well isn't though.
Don't get me wrong, I am delighted with the start we've made to season but no matter what happens in the future he is and never will be Blue. As a Blue I actually feel offended that people would say he is a Blue.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Lol Hughes more blue than NQDP?
Give over.

But he is certainly no more red than you. I've always suspected you to be a rag on a wind up and I think that more or less proves it.
Sorry that's my opinion, just happy to voice it mune.

Thats your opinion but i think hes here for the long run.Loves managing us and wants to be a legend.
Only time will tell eh.
Not getting into one of those boring arguments about Hughes out etc, but i like watching city under MH.The passing on the deck is 2nd to none and i want success under him than any other manager.

The only thing that worries me about Hughes is does he have the cojones to fight the establishment, the FA, the media and officialdom in general. As was clearly seen from today's dramas fergiscum has the lot wrapped around his little finger.

Mourinho is the man for us in my opinion.

Hughes isn't a blue but he's trying to become one & he's fighting our corner & stating our case against everybody & doing it better than any manager/coach we've had since Allison. He doesn't crawl or bend down to the rags or Baconface like other City managers always do & he paints a positive image of the club at every opportunity.
It's interesting that one of the usual suspects says he'll be off for a 'bigger' job. I recon if you put that to Hughes he'll say there is no bigger job & he'd have a higher opinion of our club than that City fan does. Hughes doesn't suffer from inferiority, it's time everyone else stopped it too. We took a weakened, injury hit side to OT & almost did the job. We're going past them.
If Hughes wins some trophies I'll happily accept him as a blue & people who don't should get a life. None of the best managers we've had were City fans, not one, they all became part of the club after a few seasons. If Hughes joins that elite by bringing success he deserves the same recognition & acceptance, whatsmore he'll get it from 99% of City fans. The ball's in his court.

its a fuclin job he gets paid very well to do, anyone who thinks he's a blue is deluded. Like KK says, blue is blue forever not just because he is being paid to do so. Make no mistake, if he ever leaves and goes somewhere else, he will hate us. It's like the players, most of them are only blues when they play for us and the only reason for it is that City pay their wages

I don't think anyone has been questioning his contribution this season. He has done well. But he isn't a Blue and I doubt he'll ever be for me but we'll discuss that when he has actually won something.

Exactly. I thought that was pretty straight forward and simple.
Who are Blues in current squad? Nedum is the only one I know of.

I don't think he supports City as such. Like I said on another thread only today, he named k***e as his all time favourite player in City mag interview some years back which leads me to believe that he grew up as a rag. He has been with the club nearly ten years and is obviously very fond of us just like many people would be fond of company where they've spend ten years and have reached the peak of their career. If he had moved to Sunderland I'm sure he would've been fully committed to them and concentrated on earning the adoration of their supporters. He is one of my favourite players but I don't think he is Blue.
Who are the Blues in game? Lee Dixon is one despite never even playing for us. Trevor Sinclair was Blue. Uwe Rosler and Goater keep coming back and pledge their allegiance to Club so they grew to be Blues eventually.
Blues for me are people who support Club, not the employees. At least not automatically. When they are standing there in the stands like rest of the supporters after their careers, then they are Blues.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Oh dear, think it's safe to say that after the ending we've all suffered today, I can't be arsed to split hairs as to who is, or isn't a blue in your eyes.

True but that will all change if they start winning stuff. Most will develop a lifelong attachment to the club & it'll become their club. Hughes may end up the same if he finds it becomes his 'home.' Ferguson wasn't a rag but he became one, same as Scholes, Cantona, Busby etc did. Other players like Hughes, Ince etc seemed to leave it all behind as soon as they left the club. To each his own.
It's quite possible that Hughes will fall in love with City, it's happened to many players & fans who previously had no affinity for the club & it will happen again. If it's only possible to be 'born' blue then half the people on here don't qualify as blues. I don't subscribe to that opinion. I'll welcome anyone who loves the club. If Hughes fails & leaves in bitterness so be it. If he falls in love with the world's greatest club; who can blame him?
