Just had a quick look at the stats for him. 3 shots, 1 key pass (same as Gundo and 1 behind Kev), and over 90% pass accuracy (better than Gundo and Kev).

Thoughts are that Nick has some mongy Rag mates that can’t count and he needs new friends.

Our Jack might have nice hair and nice legs, but whatever the stats says he was totally ineffective tonight.

I feel for him. My thoughts have always been that he never fitted our system, especially having a similar player on the other side.

Pep has different thoughts so it is now down to him to develop what he has seen.

I can't see him as a winger at all. Looks more effective nearer the middle.

He just cannot seem to get past 2 players......ever.
We all want him to succeed, as he seems like a great guy to have in your team, but so far we have seen nothing at all to justify spending 100 million pounds on him.
This is his second season with us.....there is zero excuses left for him.

I’m not sure where I see him as we will always have better options.

Never understood getting him in as we had Sterling and Foden, one of which was always going to be our future.

Was he a vanity buy because we were trying to offset the huge negativity towards our club?

I'm sorry but it was blatantly obvious with the starting line up by starting with both Grealish and Mahrez together it wasn't gonna work. The stats don't lie......not one shot on target created in 60 mins. You could literally feel the relief from the crowd when Pep made the substitutions that the game was crying out for. If we are going to retain our title and attempt to win the Chumps league, Alvarez and Foden ( if both fit ) must start as many games as possible.

Alvarez is going to be great. Grealish isn't. Just my opinion.

Haaland though, just ridiculous.

The only redeeming factor I could think of when we played with a false 9 was that we played possession football high up the pitch and he rarely gave the ball away. Now we have a number 9 in the box who wants the ball early. I think some of our players are starting to understand how to play with a striker up front. Unfortunately, Grealish is still struggling with it. That said, he's not a winger. He was a number 10 at Villa so it's baffling why we keep playing him there. He's had his year of bedding in. Time to play him in his best position and see what he can do.
Balotelli......that's a brilliant finish.

Grealish has started the season in and out with niggles. Give him time. He'll come good this season after a run of games.

Just back. We got away with one there. Shocking first half thought Mahrez and Grealish were poor and we created fuck all. The subs were needed and it worked for us. Plus was that Dias got a rest andFoden and Alvarez got a half game rest both will surely start at wolves. Not sure what Pep is up to with the defence Stones scored from nowhere but should not be playing right back

Don't think so, Pep really seems to rate him. Pep seems to do that though, getting mega talented players in, then fitting them in where there's a space regardless. As far as I can see, the fact there's no room in the midfield is why Cancelo is LB.

First half, Dortmund were there just to stand still and defend deep. Every time Grealish gets the ball he holds it for too long and they all get in possession. We just didn't move it around fast enough. And has Kev been taking tips from Joey with his corners? Did he beat the first man at all tonight?

That starting forward line up was all wrong and it was clear it wasn't working.
That's completely on pep.

The subs changed everything.

Bernie HAS to start. As does foden.

No idea what to say about haaland anymore. Probably because this has never happened before ?!

Yes they did by bringing energy and urgency to the team.
Question is why was there no energy and urgency before they were introduced?

It’s always difficult when you come up against a formation like last night and I’m hoping that wherever we play him, he gets into his stride as that’s where he does his best stuff, when driving at players.

I didn’t understand the Grealish signing at the time and it’s still no clearer today.

We obviously give players time to settle in but Grealish hasn’t even had 1 game where he has been the main man for us since he joined. He didn’t need to be consistent from Day 1 of joining but it’s reasonable to expect that a £100m player will occasionally demonstrate why we’ve bought him. But Grealish hasn’t.

I really hope it works out for him and he can become a key player for us. But it’s increasingly difficult to see it happening when he’s currently well below the level of the other attackers.

At the current rate, he’ll be sent on loan somewhere next season and then we’ll sell him for about £30m the season after. Probably back to Villa.

Missed the game, but saw earlier the highlights so I might be talking bollox, but our defense looks bad?

They make my heart skip a beat every time the ball is around our goal. Is it the constant rotation that Pep is doing to keep all of them happy? Sure, we looked the best when Walker - Dias - Stones - Zinny played non stop, with Laporte and Cancelo coming from time to time in 20/21

We look very vulnerable on the back and can't understand why.
