I would be pretty confident that yaya's contract has something in it. I love yaya, but sometimes, you just know he shouldn't be on the field.

If there is then we are fucking idiots, that just gives licence to players to not put any effort in. I can't see us being that stupid, can you?

Depends on how desperate we were to sign him at the time, it may have been a deal breaker.

Sorry mate, I just can't see it. Are you telling me that Seluk said at the negotiations that he wants a guarantee that Yaya will start ahead of De Jong and Barry? I just think that's ludicrous.

I have no idea whatsoever, but I reckon its perfectly feasible to secure a much needed signature

Talking of shitbags, Milner has come out and said Liverpool is a 'bigger' club than City. Well, only if your career is headed in a downward trajectory, Jimbo. I can see Delph rocking up there alongside him in the not too distant future.

Why negativity towards Milner, he was a great servant to us and deserves to be respected. I expect him to big up his new club, which player doesnt. I do take a little umbridge with some of the facts he is spouting though.

http://www.skysports.com/football/news/ ... ustrations

"I thought at times at City I won Player of the Month and then didn’t play for three, four or five games after," Milner told The Independent. "I feel here [Liverpool] if I play well, I’ll keep the shirt. It’s down to me.

I cant remember this particular thing happening? Also he never won the prem player of the month, he means the club one.

It did, well in terms of starts anyway. He won it for January this year and was presented the award at the end of Feb, he didn't start a number of games following that with his next start against Barca on 18th March.

Do you think the fact he'd already decided to leave for the dippers, and we knew he'd already decided, meant we no longer gave a shit?

It may have happened once (4-5 games though? Don't think so) - he implies it happened regularly, which is bullshit

Is there any evidence, other than press tittle tattle that we actually made a move for him.
I suspect that he never had any intention of signing for us. It was just made up by the media so he could say I'm not leaving Villa and then the press could put yet another negative twist on our side by saying that he's snubbed us and staying "loyal" to his club.

I dont get these agents trying to get clauses in contracts of guaranteed game time, do we insist on guaranteed form from the players? It's up to the manager and the players, if they are playing and training well, they will be picked.

When competition for a player in demand is fierce, or they know you want them more than anyone else and options are limited, these are the kinds of incentives that such players want I gather.

With Delph we wanted him, sure, but his quality at this point, and how he would fit into the team, is not enough to warrant a first team expectation week to week. At this point in his career I can see why he'd like that. Even down the road it is not clear if he would start regularly, especially if we somehow manage to get Pogba, and surely we will look for more replacements to Yaya and Fernandinho as they may not be around for too much longer at this level.

I have just read Milner's quoted comments and they are not too bad when you consider all he says. He does say he had a great time at City and it was difficult to leave. He also says the fans were brilliant with him. He does attempt to disguise the fact he has taken a back step in his career by saying if you look at Liverpool over the history of football they are maybe bigger,. He does also state that City are the team where he won every major domestic trophy
