Nope not injured just dropped from the squad. And I totally agree about what you said, he was one of the best midfielders last season so im struggling to understand Jose's reason for not playing him

I agree that he was better than silva last season but silva has looked sharp abd up for it this year in my opinion? And if mata is injured then ok but if not chelsea are costing themselves good attacking threat and dependable player in midfield

I am surprised that Mourinho only sought out a draw. I guess its his first big match after returning to the league and drawing at Old Trafford isn't so bad. Leaving Mata on the bench is surprising though...maybe he thought De Bruyne would do more tracking back....
they created basically nothing barring 2 Oscar shots and a Cahill 30 yard strike. they defended valiantly though.
