I actually think Messi could do a job for us until Johnson gets back.
Loan deal maybe? Tin hat on, but hand on heart, that's how I feel.
ha ha i love you! i can imagine the bosses at barca getting off the phone
LAPORTA: 'who was that?'
GUARDIOLA: 'garry cook'

Messi looks alright on Football Manager. Dunno whether he's be alright for us. Anyone got any YouTube clips?

Speaking of Samaras, I heard a rumour over the weekend that Juve were in the hunt for him! WTF!!!!

1558: Hmmmm. Following Tottenham's non-bid for Diego Forlan earlier, here's another move that might not be happening. Apparently Birmingham City have received NO offer from Manchester City for winger Seb Larsson (see 1320). The St Andrew's side says the only concrete bids for the Sweden international have come from Aston Villa and Newcastle. Those deals broke down because of a failure to agree personal terms.

DT Guardian says he has it on 'impeccable sources' that Larsson's staying at Birmingham.

"Oh noes..." :P
Let's recall Weiss or something if all we want is backup for SWP (if Mancini expects SWP to step up:-).
Still think we will try to play Balo/Silva/Milner/Tevez etc. as much as possible and whoever we bring in will only be backup to the backup (SWP).

"Senior source at Manchester City says there is a "slight chance of a loan" arrival but "that looks less and less likely as time goes on." Also stressed said loan would be of the "cover" variety. Denied knowledge of any interest in Jan Vertonghen."

Wonder who Newcastle will buy... Actually think Jo would do well for them but honestly don't think we'll sell him ATM because we are thin in the striker department.

just heard this
1619: Interesting, very interesting. Apparently the odds on Blackpool midfielder Charlie Adam joining Manchester United have plummeted in the last few minutes. He is now 1/4 to go there and only 5/2 to join long-term suitors Liverpool. United boss Sir Alex Ferguson said last week of course that Adam is "worth £10m for his corners alone". Watch this space.

Let's look at the bench we'll have assuming our top 11 are on the field ( ie with Balotelli back). Shay and a couple of defenders perm any two from Zaba, Boateng, Micah, Lescott. Then Milner. Then you have SWP and Jo. Who are the game changers there?
We were unlucky at the timing of the injury to AJ but really you want more than one game changing option on the bench. I wonder whether Mancini wanted an extra quality buy this window and was blocked by Cooke and Marwood or whether there was general agreement between the three. Of course the Club have given Mancini fantastic backing so it's unreasonable to grumble but the next few weeks are so important to City's future and at 11pm it's 'rien ne va plus'.

Elano and Robinho would look very nice tucked into that bench right about now. Just sayin.
cheers

But they would create hell in the dressing room and on carrington... so nah.. nothanks:-) Rather have Bellamy to be honest, if he could get on with Mancini.
*EDIT*

Roberto Mancini has announced a new face will arrive at Eastlands today. Lescott and Tevez are fighting over who gets it.

The Editor: Newcastle have broken their silence on the Andy Carroll saga - and have said a second bid from Liverpool has been rejected.

Funny this Carroll business, are Newcastle holding out for the full fee that the Dippers are getting for Torres?
