But that is how it is, racism is currently seen to be the ultimate evil. Beside any sort of racism, actual, alleged, and perceived, everything else pales into insignificance in today's society.

Looking at the back-tracking (unlike Yaya) maybe Chelsea have decided to use this as leverage. We'll let you drop the charges and you sort us out - wink-wink, nudge-nudge.

Just saying like.

Chelsea chairman Bruce Buck has dismissed criticism of the club for supporting skipper John Terry and at the same time lodging a complaint against referee Mark Clattenburg He tells the London Evening Standard: "The press seem to juxtapose 'our support' of John Terry and what's going on here and looking at us as being a bit hypocritical.
"We have to divorce the John Terry situation from this. From our perspective, the latest situation was pretty straightforward. We have an obligation to report what may be misconduct. We did that, in good faith and not maliciously."

The police have officially dropped their investigation into the Clattenburg incident as no victim has come forward (other than the odd, stray Liverpool fan, no doubt)....

Police were never contacted so why were they involved? It's been an FA investigation from the outset. I suppose the racist tactical unit are on standby at the bridge for every game.

There's a group of black lawyers hanging around football at the moment seeing a chance to screw some money out of it. They reported it to the police.

THIS JUST IN:

The FA will take no disciplinary action against referee Mark Clattenburg regarding allegations made by Chelsea.

Instead John Obi Mikel has been charged with used threatening / abusive and/or insulting words and/or behaviour during game v Man United.

How good would it be now that FA re-shuffles appointments for this weekend and appoint Clattenburg for Chelsea v Us game ;)

Chelsea are a disgrace, at least those twats that run it are. This was nothing other than a malicious attempt to slur Clattenburg. Hope he sues the bastards.

Disgraceful from them. I can understand foreign players misunderstanding what was said on the pitch, but surely someone would have explained it to them rather than making public accusations. How did they expect to get away with it?

They claim to have conducted an independent enquiry into the matter and still decided to go ahead with the accusation. Despite the fact that all their witnesses would have contradicted what Ramires claimed to have heard, which is what they did at the FA enquiry.

I can imagine the Chelsea players saying their defeat "after those decisions...we never want Clattenburg to referee us again."

With all the bad feeling It would be difficult to see Clattenburg refereeing Chelsea for quite a while.

except he was a great ref and it ended his career
This is a right mess though
Never criticise a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes.
That way when you do criticise him you'll be a mile away.
And you'll have his shoes.

Mase, Carl, I agree with you that Clattenburg is a dick who's impossible to like. That said, there will be plenty of people out there who think the three of us are cunts. Trying to ruin someone's career and possibly even life through a baseless smear campaign if fucking outrageous.

I'm surprised no conspiracy theorists have linked the timing of the Rafa appointment/press conference and that of the Clattenburg announcement. Chelsea deserve much louder condemnation than they've received so far over this. For me it's the most shameful thing in PL history.
