Shit happens in football. We'd been so lucky with the draw and Wigan had no chance(you could have had 8-1 with some bookmakers!) that this was always a likely result. But the manner of it was pure Bobby Manc inept.Eesa normal. Almost every time he comes up against an intelligently organised team he shows he is clueless. And I mean that. Time and again schoolboy shit. All Wigan did was play a false nine, Kone and drop Maloney back into midfield. Our centrebacks had no one to mark. If Mancini had gone to a three then Wigan would have just reverted to a front 1, I off. But the answer was for the non marking centreback to come forward and bring the ball through mid field. It never happened. Nastasic spent the whole game coming forward unopposed then turning around and passing back to Kompany, clearly bemused . Similarly, Zab is our main attacking width. But with Kone and Spinosa in front of him he was afraid to come forwards. The result was we were outnumbered all over the pitch. That might not have mattered if we'd played with some fire in our bellies. But you know the story there. So he's gone. praise the Lord. Because in my view he is quite simply not up to the job of managing a top tier football club. However, well done Wigan. You deserved it and it was heartwarming to see so many City fans stay behind and give them a good hand.

Trophy less season, after spending 40 mill on Garcia, Maicon, Rodwell, Nastasic. Out in the group stage in the champions league without a group stage win, miles behind in the title race, and loose the FA Cup to a relegation bound side. Somebody's gotta loose their job for this disaster, who else but the manager? Sorry Mancini, Pelligrini, where u at?!

"Our target at the start of the season was to try and win the Premier League," he said. "But our mistake started in the last market. We didn't do enough to improve our team. After winning the Premier League, the second year is more difficult.

"Then maybe you don't get the Champions League. You can have a bad season. We had problems because we lost some players. We lost Yaya (Toure) for a month. We had a lot of problems this season.
"Every manager takes the responsibility. That is normal. But I don't think last year, when Manchester United lost the Premier League and didn't play in the FA Cup final they had all the discussion we did."

- Mancini.

I still dont understand, after having such an awesome team, why does Mancini talk about transfer window. Does he need better squad even to defeat a team like Wigan

The game was a Mancini weakness showcase

Wrong team selection
Wrong tactics
Wrong substitutions
Unmotivated squad
Went back on his word that pants would start

I said yesterday that I didn't think the board would sack him, that was said on the assumption we would win yesterday - I think I may need to retract my statement

I've stuck up for him since he lifted the Cup. But by fuck has he shot himself time and again with some ludicrous decisions.

Tevez being taken off was the final straw. My auntie text me at the time asking why he did it. My auntie.

Mancini somehow managed to win us the league last year despite his best efforts. Now is the time to bring in someone who knows what he is doing.

I don't post on the day after big or gutting losses as I want time to calm down and give a reasonable assessment. Am I allowed to be disappointed or can I not be since you know we were playing Barnsley 10 years ago?
So many on here excused the handing over the league on a whimper as we were in the cup final. I would have excused it to (just about) if we'd won. But we lost, we lost to a team sitting in the relegation zone. They players were not up for it. When we attacked we were so once paced and flat. When they attacked, they did so with purpose.

Bob has failed this season. You know, yes he came second, but I would expect any manager, literally any manager to have done at least as well as him this season with the resources at his disposal. He has not got the team playing well at all and he hasn't got the best out of his players.

I am grateful for what he has done for us and for the two trophies but he's taken us as far as he can go.
We need a manager who embraces attacking, free flowing football. We don't have one.

I m 100% sure abaut one thing. If Bob stay we are losing Tevez ,hes smile when he saw sub i think said a lot.But really i notice no matter how shit is Aguero he staying on pitch .If he need to take one striker should u keep Tevez in , player who in last month score goals assist giving all and i still don't get what he want with that .We where not threat with 2 of them and he take one out. That comment abaut hoe Bob has no solution with well-organized team is 100% true and how we are really easy to read because he make us in one dimensional team. And with these players although you had bad season at your job as a manager you'll end up second. To much times he made moves that are incomprehensible and I understand that we do not want to turn into Chelsea and these are the trophies we have won after 40 years. But really do not think we've won because Bob mastermind. We just have great players even average manager would be in first 4 with this team.Last night i was really distraught as how easy Martinez read him as he left us space on wings and defend with 8 players in the middle and of course we are still trying in the middle because we know just that and Zabba and Milner from second plan run in and nothing else.

You can't be a real country unless you have a beer and an airline. It helps if you have some kind of a football team, or some nuclear weapons, but at the very least you need a beer.

They have always responded to rumours with silence. Quite rightly as any statement would be twisted anyway.

I really like Mancini and its going to break my heart when we have to let him go but I do think he's taken us as far as his stubborn-ness will let him.

Thinking back, he probably fucked up when we had the best defence in the league and he changed everything by bringing in an Italian defensive coach who doesn't speak English!

The signing of Nasri at the time I thought was brilliant. But now I don't think Mancini knows how to handle characters like Nasri, Balotelli, Tevez, etc.

It's a shame because if we'd got who he wanted last season (Hazard, RvP, DDR) I think this season would have been a different story. But he should have worked with what he had and known that the squad is still better than anyone's in the league.

I, like many on this thread have kept schtum about Mancini for some time. Yesteday was not the final straw, it was a huge lead weight. But I hope the board don't go all knee jerk. I would imagine that they have been discussing his replacement for some time, indeed rumours would suggest that they have been making moves already.

For me, when Mancini had his little handbags moment with Balotelli, I asked myself, what sort of high profile manager would allow this to happen, what sort of clown would allow this to happen in front of the photographers!?!? Tevezgate, Baolotelligate... they both remind me that he can't handle big egos. Loathed as I am to say this, Ferg could to a certain extent. Cantona, Beckham, Ronaldo and lots of others ousted because their egos were outgrowing the team. How can we better that? By picking a manager who can manage the egos, as opposed to sending them on their way. That would be something.

Various names have crossed my mind over the last two years, many gone...

Guardiola (gone)
Moyes (gone, and probably not proven enough)
Laudrup (probably a bit soon, but we should keep an eye on him)

I hope the club have sounded out Pelligrini for some time and that it's not just a knee jerk reaction. Either way, there is no manager at the moment who I think is the one. If push comes to shove, maybe we are better keeping Bobby Manc while we find the ultimate replacement. But hopefully, that process started a long time ago.

Which they've done with their round up of the papers that makes no reference to Pellegrini just the rumour that we are closing in on Isco

I am all for Roberto staying and moving on from the last three years. Yesterday was a set back, the season has not brought any trophies with a squad that is capable of beating the best teams in Europe, on any other day. There are issues to address in the summer. Can we get good money for Tevez ? Should we sell David Silva? Vince to Barcelona? Gareth Barry to become a backup player...

The way some come on here and talk about someone like Pellegrini as a candiadate , is laughable .

The disgraceful way Mancini is talked about here sums up the immaturity and ignorance of some city fans. The disgraceful way the Media trit out garbage about City is even worse. After the game , the secondcquestion in the interview with Roberto was about getting the sack, or a sack related topic. To his credit Roberto batted this off. I would have simply walked away.

All season long we've been subjected to media garbage.

Time to regroup, weed out those not interested, add the players the manager wants and go for all trophies next season.

What pisses me off about Mancini is he is always blaming on the summer signing... Even yaya going away for a month. Full of shit, we won the league with this squad and when yaya went away we didn't play shit we won and his first game back we lost.

Van pussies goals did help them, but to blame the league lost on that is just excuses for his and city's performance.
