Can't believe it's not on here. Lazio game starts in couple of hours but not showing Inter game. Shit.
I'm watching it on sopcast atm, via a link from myp2p.com, try there mate.
After watching this game so far i don't see any differance between how he's playing now and how he played at Arsenal.
He'd be a cracking signing if we manage to pull it off.
I've got it on now.
You know what mate, I've seen him fair few times for Inter and he hasn't really looked worse than for Arsenal at all. Vieira's "problem" in Italy though is that as the game is much slower, his best attributes, quickly breaking the game and opening counterattack, aren't being used well enough. I really really reckon he'd still be star in England. *Tin hat on* I honestly think he is better player than De Jong as he offers much more going forward.
A bold statement and while i think De Jong is fantastic for us, i think you could be right.

He does indeed but I still think now de Jong is the better player, in his prime theres no doubt that you would have to consider Vieira one of the best holding midfielders in the history of the Prem. There's no reason why Nige can't look to learn of Vieira and turn himself into a world-class player.

I'm watching Inter Milan actually and Vieira was absolutely impressive for all over the game! Remember that here in Italy grounds are really horrible and the French could only make things better than now playing at Eastlands or in other English grounds!
From Torino, Italia to Manchester, Lancashire this City is always our City!

Am I missing something but why on earth are the Italians playing on Wednesday afternoon?
Is it because it is the Epiphany tomorrow? Is this a Catholic holiday over there? Are you doing il ponte to the weekend too? Lazy beggars ;-)

On football weekly this week, Richardson said it is because of Epiphany, it's some sort of bizarre holiday, there's a witch who brings sugar and coal or something like that.

This is bank holiday in most European countries mate, Finland included.
Sometimes we're good and sometimes we're bad but when we're good, at least we're much better than we used to be and when we are bad we're just as bad as we always used to be, so that's got to be good hasn't it?

Looks about as mobile as Didi to me & very very very slow but strong & using the ball well. De Jong is light years better though apart from experience.
P.S. please please please if Mancini gets sacked don't bring in Mourinho. He's turned what was merely a dull side into one that's less fun to watch than mould growing on cheese. Dreadful football, dreadful pitches, dreadful, slow, geiatric, piss poor standard league.

Mourinho just confirmed Vieira's exit.
http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528, ... 91,00.htmlMourinho told Sky Italia: "I should give a special mention to Vieira, who certainly played his last game with us.
"I don't know where he will go, maybe to England which he likes a lot, but we should thank him for what he has done in these years at Inter.
"The club decided not to renew his contract, which is coming to an end, and to accept the offer of another club.
"I will miss him but I don't have the right to demand anything from a club who has done so much for me."
Does not say he is coming to City but I guess it looks almost 100% certain now.
so now as every enemy circles our city
sour and sore, we swear war

A decent signing in my mind, it's not as if he doesn't know what to expect in the Premier League, Ok he may not be as quick or mobile as he once was, but they say class is permanent. All top teams need an experience. Chelsea have Ballack, London Irish have Scholes, Van Der Saar, Neville etc and these teams are always up there.
I think the worry with the age thing is when people sign a player like McMininmum and Fatler and expect them to carry and drive the team on and be there main players, which is the wrong way to do it. Vieira would be a calming influence, and could be a player who knows how to see out a game and not lose concentration and knows how to win.
Granted he may not be the long term future, but he fills a gap until players such as Komapny and De Jong become more experienced and Barry becomes the older statesman.

Epiphany and "real christmas" on 7th/8th must be mutually exclusive as 6th is when the "three kings" showed up, intit?
I think "most European countries" is an overstatement too.
And are all bedouins little?
Never criticise a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes.
That way when you do criticise him you'll be a mile away.
And you'll have his shoes.

I'm assuming most Catholic European countries it is a bank holiday. It definitely is in Italy today.

Good post , I cant see a downside to this the more winners we have in the dressing room the more chance we have of winning [ I know profound :>) ] but will be a good signing imo

Make no mistake any signings in January are SOLELY with this season in mind, and should be appreciated as such. No point talking about age, wages, long-term etc we are talking April/May 2010.

Mate why do you say that? Why? That sounds terrible to me if mancini is just planning for 6 months with shitty short term signings from Italy. I mean people moaned about hughes getting his mates in.
My problem with signing Vieira (apart from that he is in the 'has been' mould of citys signings when we were SKINT) is the fact that he will want games, and that may mean someone young, city and quality, like de jong or ireland may miss out. I dont want that. If hes happy to sit on the bench and rotate then fine, but i dont think he will.
