It's been a news story for about a week so, there's that.

Yaya looks great too, we are gonna get a great season out of him I suspect.
Sadly The same problems we've had for time seem to exist still too. So iffy at the back and Vince looks super shaky still.

Silva's that once in a generation player who is literally priceless to us - you keep him at the club (or in the 'City group' nowadays) until his legs go then spend the next few decades fondly remembering all the good times.

If theoretically there was an offer on the table, let's say north of 50m for a 29 year old player, I'm fairly sure the club would have to take it seriously - it would be rather financially reckless not to. As it is, this speculation is that it's an Italian club which likely means any offer amounts to us paying them to take him off our hands.

What so we could trade Dave for the next Sterling? Silva is worth way more for us since he is 100% integrated and comfortable in our team. When you buy the next/current superstar, you have to account for the risk the they won't adapt to the PL or City like their last team. Plus, Dave is incredible to watch and is a City legend.

It would be financially reckless to let him go for anyone bar Messi money. Even then I feel sick thinking about it. Only a "City/dourtmund" fan like phips could suggest sonething like this

To be fair to Phips (who gets an unwarranted amount of shit by the bandwaggon bullies on here), that quote is taken completely out of context.
The post where the quote is taken from ends with him clearly stating that he does NOT want us to sell Silva.

Silva is a player that does not rely on pace (of the legs) at all. He could valuable for another 5+ years, even if it's just from the bench in the end. If you look at the likes of Xavi, Zidane, Pirlo, Nedved, Del Piero, Totti, Lampard, Scholes or Giggs they have been challenging for titles at the highest level well into their 30s.

Is £50m a refusable offer for a player with his awareness on the pitch and status at the club? Of course it is.

It happens a lot with this particular cunt .

OT - I wouldn't let silva go at all. As mentioned already, he doesn't depend on pace and has a decent injury record.

We'll get a good few more years out of him and the likes of Sterling will be a far better player because of him. Who better in the premier league to teach composure?

It's not out of context at all. His opinion doesn't matter since it wasn't about his opinion in the first place. It was about whether he suggested/proposed the idea or not. phips says, "I didn't suggest anything." What I quoted plainly shows that he suggested/proposed the idea of losing Silva to get Pogba. Clear as day.

Every once in awhile the bandwagon is the correct way to go. I strongly dislike anyone who cannot choose 1 team to support above all others. He's been asked the question (who do you like better dortmund or City?) countless times and always sidesteps giving an answer. Therefore, the motive behind all of his opinions (especially on transfers regarding our best player) should be given the same skeptcism as you would any non-City fan.*

And that completely ignores the fact that he knows fuckall about football. If anything, he gets away with spouting too much bullshit, rather than being a victim of unwarranted bullying.

*I'm always ready to reconsider my opinion if phips can clearly say who he likes better: City or dortmund.

What's wrong with him even suggesting that idea? He put it across as discussion point, stating his opinion. There is absolutely nothing wrong with anything in that post. A simple 'nah, terrible idea' would have warranted. Not an attack.

I think some people need to relax. It's getting a bit aggressive in here lately, bluemoon-esque.

I agree twosips. I don't care much for his posting or supporting of two clubs, but this bullying is a bit cringey tbh.

At least there was something profoundly comical about the likes of Robinho is God, Vhero or even that Antmcfc character. This phips obsession is just a dull ersatz substance for the belligerent types.

He did. He asked a question if anyone would be alright with it? Then he said he doesn't think Silva wants to go anyway and that he wouldn't want to lose him either. That was literally all he asked.
