Harry Dowd scored wrote:Speaking of the defencing champions, here's Pep Guardiola, and the Manchester City boss is immediately asked about the response of Kevin Parker, general secretary of City's official supporters' club, to Guardiola's call for more fans to turn up on Saturday.

"I am not going to apologise for what I said," said Guardiola. "It's not the first time I've said it in my career, I said it at Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

"When we play a tough game, like RB Leipzig was, and play three games [soon] after, I know how difficult it is, to ask for us all to do it again on Saturday. What I said was we need the support, it doesn't matter how many people come, but I invite them to come and enjoy the game because we need the support.

"I am entirely grateful for the support that we had against Leipzig. I always say if guys want to come we will be incredibly grateful because I know how difficult the game will be and I know we need our people. I never sit here and ask why people don't come. If you don't come then don't. I will not apologise to him [Kevin Parker]."

There you have it, is he saying the atmosphere or the amount of people?

Sounds the way I heard it the first time.

My analogy,Pep relationship with us,has always struck me from his perspective, as being like a hot Cheshire Wag in a convenient relationship with some fat ugly Lottery winner from Gorton for their money.

So i suppose him having the occasional dig goes with the territory of him doing us a great favor just by being here.

I have actually got used to him dry humping Noddy on the touchline every Derby, and telling us what a massive Club with lots of history the Rags are.

Why for me i will always, always, love Bobby Manc he was Blue through and through. And got us fans.

Sure there is no comparison football wise.

With Pep it has always been nothing more than a well paid job where he gets to manage superstars.

He keeps winning Trophies for us i can live with it

Everyone knows I don’t like him and everyone knows why I don’t like him but I also acknowledge he’s the best league manager in the world but I wouldn’t trade dissing the fans (however the way he puts it ) for him to be allowed to carry on putting us fans down - no way will I .

Today he tried to put a spin on it by saying people interpret what they want to interpret , but he’s not getting away with that fucking excuse , especially as he has past form for having a go at City fans .

He says he’s one of us ? What a fucking cheek !! He’s nowhere like us fans and after all these years he still doesn’t get us City fans .

He can go fuck himself .

Atmosphere or fans ?

He was having a dig at the fans not coming - that’s how it sounds and that’s how he put it .

did he actually make similar comments at barca or bayern? i wouldn't be surprised if he did and their fans felt the same as ours. imo it's just his way, love it or hate it.

Don't remember if he did at Bayern, but I remember the germans were very happy when he left.
After winning the league three times in a row in late March or something.

He’s told us off for booing the CL and told us to stop it
He’s told us we want to be a big club like the Munichs or Dippers as they have history
He’s told us he loves Barcelona and brings it up at every given
He’s told us we need to have more support for his “tired”multimillionaires this week .

He continues losing to Chelsea .

That’s about it for now .

I heard that as well - no one misses him and they still keep on winning .

Some of our fans need to understand that we won’t just roll over and play like Burnley when he finally fucks off !!

Honestly i wouldn't be surprised if he ended up at the Rags on a 3,4, year contract next.

Don't think he will go at the rags, to be honest.
With all of his flaws, he doesn't seem that kind of person.

For what it’s worth my take was that he knows the importance of a sat game after CL. With Utd Chelsea and dippers so strong this season he knows this is an absolute must win and wanted the crowd to be the 12 man. But I think he could have thought it through a lot better.

He wants a large noisy turnout on Saturday. Which Manager doesn’t. Let’s hope he gets one.

If the last two Prem home games are anything to go by he would have got that anyway. Makes no sense him saying it.

He shouldn't have said anything.

But only because it will change nothing, not because he offended anyone.

Probably the beginning of the end for him.
It's a pity because I think he's the best manager in the world and the greatest we've ever had.
