No mate, I could make that slip up and have on a couple of occasions! Fine line between love and hate there is ;-)

I'm with WW. You simply don't make that mistake. And it's not about City, it's about the basics of taking your job seriously. You NEVER trip up over a competitor's name. We know he's not a City fan, but he must surely do better than that.
Although those who "kicked off" were out of order

The problem I have is that I sometimes open my mouth before engaging my brain. If someone mentions a certain thing I hate, especially after a couple of swallies, I seem to mix-up what I'm trying to say, which i put down to a certain anger factor that goes on in my brain; and I'm renowned for it. Like I say, the difference between love and hate is a fine line and sometimes the wires get crossed. No way am I saying this is what Garry Cook did, but from personal experience, and as a devoted Blue, I'll admit to a similar mistake!

Hangs head in shame :-(

No offence, but I'd believe his nephew in discussions about his footballing allegiances over you any day. And he says Bernstein is, and always was, a Spurs fan.

Did we get Puma in the end, then?

Fantastic idea to get a deal on football shirts. Why did Bernstein and Wardle never think of that?

But did either of them put us to be in a position of 'flagship club' for a company? Don't suppose you've noticed that Umbro's website subtley features us twice on the front page. (England get 3, and Santos get their own feature for this month, while others don't get a look in at all- including the 25% of Premiership clubs they manufacture kits for besides us).

So he went to Spurs a lot, sat in the home end and shouted on the home team. i believe that.
I also believe he is a City fan. He certainly claims it publicly and I've no reason to believe he's lying.

Since I was a boy

"Although resident in Finchley for 25 years, Bernstein was born in the North-west in St Helens and has followed City "with great passion" since 1954. His four sons have inherited his enthusiasm for the light blue cause, spurning more fashionable alternatives"
Never criticise a man until you've walked a mile in his shoes.
That way when you do criticise him you'll be a mile away.
And you'll have his shoes.

From the article, I could say the exact same thing about me and Swansea City if I ever ended up chairman there, without lying. I guess it's each to his own as to what to believe. I have no doubt he had/has 'great passion' for City.

While I'm on a connections spree- my mum used to work with Chris Bird's mum, too.

Well, I didn't think too much of the "legacy" he left behind to be honest BiB.....Spurs are welcome to him

Funny though that I have heard him on things like Talksport described as "ex-City chairman and City fan David Bernstein" on a number of occasions. He either has split loyalties or is a lying cunt.

I don't really care either way

For somebody who doesn't care much on the issues raised in this thread you have a fair amount to say:)
