But on the note of the players of course they want to play for the club, they did have other options you know i was gonna facepalm but decided against it.

But if I fell out with my boss quite seriously and an opportunity came up to move to a competitor....then I wouldn't question how much "I wanted to be there" when I was at my new firm
Similarly, if things were going swimmingly and someone dangled a lucrative carrot in front of me to move jobs then I certainly wouldn't question my commitment to my new employers or my desire to be there. Indeed, I'd say that I would be motivated and committed to my new company.
Bit of a silly premise upon which to question some of our players IMO

Surely it would also depend upon whether you thought that competitor was worthy of your services. As I also said above, money can lead to people making decisions they may later regret

I would still have the same attitude at that new company as i did at the old one and that would be to do the same job to the best of my abilities and hopefully reap the rewards they promised.
We would leave our jobs if we were miserable, unhappy or under-used. Footballers are the same but on a shit load more money than us.

Well, for one I don't think Robinho does at all.
In relation to other options - yes they may well have had them, but both our transfer fees and wages were probably way in excess of everone elses which can lead to people making decisions they may later regret.ant london wrote:I want to be working where I currently am

I appreciate that and made the comment in my OP, but there are direct quotes from players in there.dazby wrote:one big win will fix everything
Hopefully dazby. Another 5-1 against Hull would be a good tonic.Vhero wrote:Wow you take quote from our team and old teams put them together and make a thread from them like we are the mistake? I can't believe I wasted my time actually clicking those links..
Where are the quotes from our old team? Sorry about your precious time Vhero. Must have been a drag pulling yourself away from you PS3!!
Look - I don't know whether my comments/thoughts are right or not. I am pretty sure Robhino wants out. With the others I think it is probably more a case of adjusting to new surroundings/team mates.
One thing is for sure though, if we had the same work ethic in the Liverpool/Burnley/Birmingham/Fulham/Wigan games as the opposing teams, then we would all be a lot happier.

I obviously meant when they were playing for their old team rather than us the robinho situation is completely differnt from the Ade situation. You knew fine fucking well what I meant so stop acting like some other idiots on here and pretending otherwise. I am just sick of winging fuckers like you posting threads on here about this shit like we ain't got another 500 threads on it already. So dont worry about me and my precious fucking time and stop posting fucking drab shite like this!
Fucking hell has half the fanbasre turned into whinging twats lately or what? It's only a fucking game and lets be honest here we are doing fucking better this year than last so fuck yeah I'm not happy with Hughes/players/etc but you don't see me starting shite topics like this and whinging in every other topic do you?
FUCKING HELL.

Exactly!
I've always said the same when commitment issues and "how much they love us" questions come up. It's their job, just like we have ours. We have different levels of commitment to our work places but truth is if someone came in offering to triple my wages for same job, I'd be off. That's why I work, to earn money. I don't love (although I don't hate my job either, it's alright) my job but I'm delighted to hear my job praised sometimes.
Sitting on the bench is same as when you've been transferred to less important assignments at work. You still get your pay check but you also know that at some stage they are going to try and get rid of you. Same as with Petrov.
World leader in your area of work is looking for a director and your named is being touted. Same as with Robinho.
You've moved to other company to take up pretty similar job but you were formerly employed by bigger company. You were forced to leave because you couldn't get along with boss. Same as with Adebayor.
You had bit of a backstabbing collegue who was brown nosing the boss and in the end of the day you were fighting for the same spot with this feller and the boss gave it to him. So you thought "fuck it " and left to another company. Same as with Toure.
You've won in lottery and you got shitloads of money. You are considering whether you keep on working especially if that big deal you are working on will come off next summer. Maybe sailing in Caribbean with the family? Same as with Tevez.
And so on and so on. They don't love us or the club particularily, it's just their job.
