It's called anxiety, and we hear Navas actually struggles with it (there are various forms and affects people differently...some in certain situations, others all of the time, et.), which I think could explain why Navas falters with his final pass when he is not as confident.
We also heard Negredo's wife wanted to stay in Spain, I think because of their kids.
Reality was he was probably upset he dropped by Pellegrini in pecking order to Dzeko after he fizzled in the 2nd half of the season plus perhaps some of the frustration from his family and adjusting to a new culture/language.
Wish him the best at Boro as he did great for us for a time during Pelle's first season, but it was a great sale for us compared to what he has become since.
So he won't suffer the same problems at boro? The problem occurs when you come out with bullshit excuses to explain your poor form, then hope everyone forgets when you completely contradict what you said.
I actually said it was an excuse mate.
I don't think he was really "homesick" or suffering from serious anxiety like Navas. Maybe he left more because he realized he was dropped after playing so well, in poor form, injured, frustrated and maybe combine that with trouble adapting to the culture/language, and his wife in his ear. Who knows, but his ego surely cannot be as big this time around about such a thing.
I thought basically he was a pretty second-rate player who looked good when the ball bounced off his shin a few times or when the goalie inexplicably let one in (Liverpool).
After his imjury he was just very second rate, plus seemingly with a lot of baggage, depending on which rumour you believe
“I may be drunk, Miss, but in the morning I will be sober and you will still be ugly.”

In his own words
"...the main reason I left is because the manager lost faith in me.
‘Around February, I had an injury to my shoulder. I didn’t stop to rest it. I was playing in a huge amount of pain. Kun (Aguero) was injured and Stevan Jovetic had problems, so I felt I had to play. We had huge games against Chelsea and Barcelona. I didn’t play well and the manager started to play Edin Dzeko. I don’t feel I ever regained his trust.’

Sound like he was pissed off he had to play with an injury, but when the manager rested him to play someone else he was pissed off he was rested.
Basically he had a good half season and hasn't hit those heights anywhere else since.

Footballers, being spoiled brats, always blame someone else. The fact that he had personal difficulties clearly had nothing to do with it.

I also vaguely remember something about a tax issue that was hanging over his head back in Spain.
Anyway. Good half season. Loved his style. Proper No9 tough guy. Loved his style.
Cheers
But did you love his style?
I clearly wanted to bum him. I had no idea I felt this way until you called me out. I could do worse and maybe have done in a past life I suppose.
Mucho gracias Senor.
Cheers
