I think long term though a HG second choice is essential starting next season.

As a keeper you have to play and the guy doesn't, not surprised one bit by how rusty he looks. He made a great save in the run up to that goal and I thought maybe he would go on to have a good game, but alas it wasn't to be. Lets be clear though, he was not alone in being poor.

As for Gunn I agree that he needs to go out and play some big boys football but we throw him in with the first team as no doubt if he played now and made a mistake he would be getting the "he's shit treatment" like so many others get.

How do you go about playing whilst being the reserve?

Nowadays they expect them to keep sharp by training but I don't feel that replicates actual match play. This is where you need a reserve team where you can at least get some game time.

i'm already getting worried that my 9 year old only really trains and does small scrimmages with other local clubs instead of playing for one of these fucktard travel clubs here in FL...Being great at training and learning the game is one thing, but you have to be "in the shit" to really prove anything, don't you?

Right now I'd choose Willy for the Champions League game. Be extremely unfair on Gunn to throw him into an away Champions League game for his debut behind a second choice centre back partnership. It could really batter his confidence if it was a bad result.

That's not to say in a couple of years that won't be different but he hasn't played against grown men yet. As others have said, a loan somewhere will help achieve this, but for now the EDS is probably his best education, then next season go on loan, then the season after to be our number two and challenging Joe.

Whether we persevere with Caballero is another matter. I don't myself think he is good enough as a back up
