Record of 9 consecutive league wins

Here is the place to talk about all things city and football!

Record of 9 consecutive league wins

Postby I Just Blue Myself » Mon Aug 24, 2015 12:03 pm

Coincides with Kolarov's run in the side. Took over from Clichy after the derby and hasn't missed a single minute since.

Discuss.

You're gonna get crucified for even suggesting this mate.
Like Kolarov mentioned after the match, he's better when he gets a run of games in the side (similar to Dzeko I'd imagine). And it's helped having Sterling in front of him and not Nasri.
People continue the myth that Clichy is a better defender than Kolarov. He's not. He stands off his man to the point where the winger started at the halfway line and is now in our box. He offers little going forward as well.

Coincides with Mangala's run in the side too.

Discuss.

In regards the Kolarov/Clichy debate what I think Clichy has over Kolarov is a better engine, he works the line better as he has the ability to get up and down more.

Kolarov is in outstanding form at the minute though, long may it continue.

Keep this run going for much longer and the season could be over for the rest, before it's really got going.

So long as the players stay grounded and approach each single game as if it is a final we will be ok. No complacency, looking at the likes of vinny and joe pre match they look like they're in the zone.

im not his biggest fan but you cant argue with his current form.

Strangely didnt we nearly beat this record last year, we had chance on new year day to overtake it at home to burnley and were two up at half time cruising towards the record and then we fucked up,drew 2-2 and struggled in the next few games and only got our rhythm back at the start of this run?lets not make the same mistake again against watford, play like its a cup final and we will win simple. Treat them with disrespect and we wont.
derby day the scores were level,
then the goat was fed by neville,
silly boy should know for sure,
feed the goat and he will score!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Absolutely.

1st game of the season everyone's up for.
2nd was Chelsea and the new stand etc
3rd was away at goodison so again it was an easy one to get up for.

4th against Watford. This will show us how much they want it imo

I think it was in the 13/14 season we got 8 in a row.

No doubt Watford will come and spoil the party this weekend cause typical city isn't dead just yet.

So nine wins in a row is our club record ... equalled now. A win against Watford would make it 10 and a new club record.

Does anyone know what is the overall longest winning streak record by any club (in the top division?)
