and Messi. I reckon if he was 10 years younger he'd claim to have tried to sign Pele as well

I've just posted something akin to the above posts on Chinner's daily offering.
Apologies for not seeing and reading this thread first.

I heard his dog tried to sign Pele when he was manager of Bayern Munich in the '60s.

The thing is, he always makes these ridiculous claims as if to show how nearly great his team was but doesn't it actually just show up how bad his judgement of a player is actually is if he's missing out on all these and signing the shite he usually does? Gross negligence imo.

Funny that, because there's a piece on the Mail online about Kenny Dalglish whilst he was a 15 year old in 1966

I've never been able to stand him, but now he is becoming a parody of himself, like one of those bands that has lost its creativity but churns out song after song to the same old formula that used to work.

Were you thinking U2 or Pearl Jam when you wrote that?

Good examples. Of course, some repeat a formula that was never any good in the first place.....

You need to hear Pearl Jam's new album, I actually said to a mate, "they sound like a band trying to copy Pearl Jam".

He's so full of shit and yet the media still love him.
When he was speaking on 50 Years of Match of the Day, he was going on about how he used to gather round the TV as a kid to watch the footie.
He would have been 17 FFS, hardly a kid in shorts!!!
