Right just wondering if anyone could help me with the tram system. Obviously there's now one that runs to the etihad, so I'm just asking if anyone knows which is the best place to stop to get to shambles square from the etihad? I looked at Albert square but it's a half an hour journey! And do city fans still take over the square on match days? Cheers guys

If you're more than two people you're probably better off just taking a cab.

I usually walk or take the bus from Piccadilly Gardens.

Is piccadily gardens walking distance from shambles square, as I'm looking at going for a meal with the old man before hand. Cheers

Yes. It's about a five minute walk - just through (or around) Arndale.

Ok thanks mate nice one. Will it be city fans there like usual? Or is it different on derby day, we usually just park up and go Mary d's till the game, fancy something different this time before we head to Mary d's. where abouts is the townley? I've heard this is better than Mary d's apparently? Cheers

The last derby the Townley was full when we got there about an hour before the match. Don't really know where to drink in town before the games. I only come over once or twice a season and always go to the Downey.

Anybody going up two days later for the CapitalOneCup Wigan game? I am thinking of driving up (from MK) as can't get trains on the way back that late, so will be driving back as well. Anyone else going? Let's see, we've got space for three more :)
