I think the difference is though, that when you compare the reality to the reputation, Kolarov is by far the worst defender full stop, that city have ever had. He is very close to RSC, Vuoso and Bradbury in wasted money stakes.

Ben Thatcher would have tried to elbow him rather than make the tackle. Tiatto would have tried to boot him in to the stands than make the tackle. Jensen would have let him go passed him. Tony Vaughn would have tripped over his own feet thinking about how wonderful the rags are and how he couldn't wait to get home and put his rag shirt on. Garrido wouldn't have closed him down and would most likely still be up the pitch wondering whether to bother running back. Wayne Bridge would have backed off until the last minute, dived in and the guy would have skipped passed him.

Kolarov isn't the best, but please don't forget we've had some very very bad left-backs over the years.

Pretty horrible buy and even as a Mancini licker I have to say that whole "attacking fullback" thing he had a hard on for was pretty shocking idea.

Hopefully next man, whoever it is, will recognize that fullbacks need to know how to defend first and foremost. If they are like Zabaleta that they can both defend well AND help attacks....well that's what you aim for.

Kolarov can fuck right off as far I'm concerned. Yeah, maybe in that one occasion he didn't deserve the shit he got but he has been at fault for so many goals in his time with City it's just ridiculous. His understanding of football tactics and positioning for supposed top footballer is nothing short of shocking.

Pretty much what happened around us. I actually thought he did ok in that passage of play. Plenty were very upset with his reaction to the criticism.
And I hate fans booing our own. And it did bring the demolition of Edgehill to mind.
